The first meet in the book sis the South Region women. Only two teams were expected to get out of this region and those two teams went 1-2. So that's good news for all of the bubble teams. Samford got 3rd which wasn't what was supposed to happen in the rankings. Do they have any points? I don't think so.
In-Progress Standings
PLACE TEAM 6K 1 2 3 4 5 (6) (7)
1 Ole Miss 59
7 11 12 13 16 (28) (31)
2 Georgia 72
1 3 15 23 30 (47) (103)
3 Samford 92
2 6 8 33 43 (86) (105)
4 Florida State 127
9 20 25 29 44 (68) (85)
If those end up being the only two teams to advance, then your 4 individuals advancing are.
1. Karisa Nelson (Samford, 2nd)
3. Brenda Kigen (Auburn 4th)
4. Eden Meyer (North Florida, 5th)
6. Anna Long (Samford, 6th)
Hoping for an at-large individual bid are the 8th and 9th placers in the region - Purity Sanga (Tennessee Tech 8th) and Haley Ward (Samford 9th).
Individually, looks like Nelson (Samford), Kigen (Auburn), Meyer (UNF), and Long (Samford) will qualify.

And everyone out West with good weather will circlejerk their times as proof that they're better. Why don't you come east where the real men run all year round?
There are a number of things the west and mountains can point to in order to show their superiority. Like pre-nats, Nuttycombe, Griak, and basically the rankings in general. Comparing times that are run on different courses, in different conditions and at different elevations is pointless. What is worth noting is the east coast has 36% of the US population, but only 16% of the teams in the top 30.
flo track said they didn't have any so theyre out
texas gave up a lot of points between notre dame and pre nats. in the southeast, it looks like NC State and Furman got autos on the women's side.
Am I reading the results wrong or did a lot of women drop out of the midatlatic regional race?

West Virginia which was projected to make it as an at-large bombed the mid-atlantic. They were just 7th.

That is a good performance from Penn State. Very impressive run from Danae Rivers.
Syracuse Wonen 3rd in northeast ahead of Columbia, do they get pushed in?

Flotrack sucks. My account keeps kicking me off. What a waste of $$$$$$$$$$
The Dartmouth women have upset the form charts and auto qualified in the NE to please Jonathan Gault.
They edged Syracuase by #2 points thanks to the fact their #6 and #7 both finished ahead of Syracuse's #5. Had they tied, Syracuse would have won the tiebreaker.
