Word is that he is going for the 20K American record
If Rupp is fit, the 20K USR is toast, the current USR is only equivalent to a 1:02 half. That record should be a piece of cake for someone with a sub-27 10K PR and won an Olympic Marathon medal. The top athletes run 20Ks in 56x, albeit those are on flat courses, but even with a few hills, Rupp should be able to go sub-59. Ryan Hall probably ran a least a minute faster than Ritz 's 20K USR in-route to his half USR.
Now, with that said, either this race or Philly is an appearance paycheck, one of them is not going to be an all out effort. Also, to those who think 2 races in 3 weeks is a lot, you need to understand NOP training. Races are sometimes easier than training. Can you imagine running 10-15 miles in the morning, 800 intervals in the afternoon, followed up with a 1 hour session in the weight room and come back and do the same thing the next day. Rupp has adapted to it, but most athletes could not.
American Open Road Record for 20 km is 56:48, as previously stated, by Dathan Ritzenhein. I believe that converts to something more like 60:0X, not 62.
Anyone seen results yet? Race started at 8:30 eastern time. The elites should be done over an hour ago.

Race is Monday...
Oops. Thanks.

lol
Correct- Ritz ran the 20km record en route to a 60:00 flat half marathon in Birmingham - which happens to be 30 seconds faster than Galen's best time.

Easily solved by changing 20K Finisher medals to 20/42.2th Marathon Finisher or 47.4% Marathon Finisher.

Just call it the "20K Marathon"
Rupp finished 3rd in 58:57. Got out kicked.
Noah won us 58:33. Incredible run!!
Awesome run!!! Looking for a huge breakthrough at Chicago from Noah.
Anyone know who was second? Was it close?
Meb in a US master's record. Pulled away from Lagat in mile 9. Surprising too that Abdi was not a factor.
Why not at least pretend the race happens on Saturday, rather than Friday afternoon? Might get more people to believe instead of just that one stupid guy.
It was 7:30 am in Seattle when i posted that. I'm here visiting and got my days mixed up. For some reason I thought the race was the on first of September, not Monday. So out here it made sense to ask at 7:30 what happened in a race that I thought started at 8:30 east coast time today. Sorry for the confusion, wasn't trying to trick anyone.

Oh, I wasn't talking about you. It's clear that you got the wrong day. A few others later in the thread started posting fake results as if the race had happened today, even though it was pointed out just prior to their troll attempt that the race was on Monday.

He was referring to "droddy da man," who appears to have fallen for the troll attempt of somebody posting fake results.
I'm a butthole.
IMHO, the ladies race looks to be more interesting: Hasay vs. Sisson. I saw a thread started on this matchup yesterday.
Have Hasay and Sisson ever raced each other? I'm guessing that they must have, esp if Sisson was a frosh when Hasay was a senior.
