What do you mean? Does this suggest the fields are weak and that a 3:28 guy is unbeatable in a 13:06 race? Because he still looked mortal based on the finish. Squeaking out a W by fractions of a second in races off shit-tier paces is the Mo legacy.
Are you old enough to remember Bekele in the '03 Paris 10k or '08 Beijing 5k? Do you remember Gebrselassie in Paris or Tadesse trying numerous times to snatch those golds away from Bekele? (And Sihine.)
Significantly better runners did try and succeed to beat Bekele in 2003 and 2004... and then it never happened again.
Lemme know when Mo fights off a pack of contenders to finish anywhere near, say, 12:55.
