Cute "human interest" story for all the stay-at-home moms who might tune into Worlds for an hour or two here and there.
She won't make it out of the rounds in London.

She made it into the rounds in London.
Wait - does she have any children? I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet.
Yeah she has three. I have four and have gotten faster after each one. Granted not as fast as her but went from 1930ish 5k to 1745.
Great, but don't a lot of women that have children work in demanding jobs? How is this case different?

Great - thanks for clarifying. I couldn't see anywhere on the website where the brojos had mentioned her having children more than about a hundred times

How many rounds in London will you get through?
For that matter, how many rounds in Sacramento did you get through?

She has 3 kids, works a demanding job, AND made her 2nd World Team. Is there a precedent for this?

Wouldn't be so sure about that. She beat Lauren Johnson, and she almost made the final in Beijing 2 years ago. She also wasn't in contention with 300 to go and had a huge kick.

She also works a full time job in addition to being a mother, something most athletes at this meet can't claim. Also, giving birth (THREE TIMES!), that takes a lot to recover and rebuild from and get your body back into racing form. It's not at all like being a regular parent with a full time job. It's being a parent with two full time jobs, one of which is rather demanding of the body.
If she is not mormon, even more impressive.
Great race by her and excellent feel good story! Got teary eyed watching her immediately after the finish.
Yes. Shayne Culpepper who had a couple of kids.
The Myrtl routine is paying off.
Ok, so she works full time hours a day in a hard and demanding job as a realtor. This is very difficult in and of itself.
Then she is a mother of 3 children which requires at least 4-6 hours of dedicated time to them. This is hard too, in and of itself.
Training might take up 3 hours a day. This is very hard in and of itself.
It is absolutely unbelievable to succeed and do exceptionally well in all of these aspects of one's life!
Those "hard working Kenyans" like Kipchoge, or Mo Farah, can only do well in running and they obviously do 0 parenting and 0 work outside of running... Don't they sleep all day in between practices?? Pffff...

I don't know if anyone brought this up yet, but apparently she has 3 children!
