Whoever is the first M60+ mediocre runner to transgender.
Definitely Grace Ping.
We just had a 94 year old runner lady finish the San Diego rock and roll half in 3:40 or so.Sure it is a half but she is 94.That in itself is an official record now.Not sure if that can be beaten unless the Gookins can beat that in several years.A few years ago, they still seemed strong. But right now, this is it

Who do you think could decimate the age group WRs?
I realize you are trolling but to educate idiots, real transgender women are actually slower post-op, not faster than their counterparts, despite LRC purposely propagandizing that they are all just drag queens
Correct about young elites like Joanie never becoming Masters elites. It simply cannot happen, never has happened. You only have 25, perhaps 30 years-tops- of body tissue and bone to run at truly elite levels at every age group. The body breaks down after a finite period with the intensity of training required as you age.

This has a list of a single age records for the marathon. Christine Kennedy is in a nice sweet spot for age, but I found an article that said she cracked her skull. Not sure how well she will come back from that.

I've always wondered why someone like Joan or Deena would keep competing into older age. For some of us it is the idea that we never did enough, that we could have been contenders, and so we keep going, striving for age-group medals and a sliver of respect from our competitors. But they both have Olympic medals, FFS.
Some people actually like running and competing.
Sabra Harvey has a pile of age group records. But she prefers track and shorter road races.

I hope I can do what Jan Holmquist is doing at 60 and 70 because at 50 I've beaten her 50yo PR for mile and 5K times (slightly, on track not road) but I don't care for those shorter distances at all, give me a 15K or HM instead anyday.
Can we talk about how crazy hard this Olympic marathon course is?
