Just got an email from an astute visitor, CM, who noticed Centrowtiz isn't listed on the entries any more.

When the reigning Olympic 1500m Champion scratches from a major world class track meet in his backyard which serves as a "Homecoming" should warrant a press conference and or press release ASAP.

I think there is a difference between being scratched and not being listed on the entries.
Based on the thread title, I thought there was an announcement that he withdrew.
This is the Pre meet and he is Centro.
He could not be entered, show up at the line right at the start (without a bib) and go ahead and race the Bowerman Mile.
I'd wait for an announcement of withdrawal from his camp.
If this isn't enough proof that Centro's on that special sauce, then I don't know what is. Drop the Banhammer on him now!
Well he was listed on the entry list and then his name was WITHDRAWN from the entry list. It wasn't just that he was never listed for the race.
Suspect it's getting to hot in the NOP corner right now. Ironic Centro the elder opts to step down to coach Junior within hours of the report being released earlier this week. Might all be coming to a head within the next week or less.
Laaaaaaaaaaaame
How unusual on LetsRun - friggin' rampant speculation by the same kinds of people who swear they see the face of Baby Jesus in their cheese pizzas! Or by mudslingers who just want to shoot down any of Nike's stable of runners, because Nike = cheating, across the board. Or who just love to knock any elite, successful athlete off of his/her pedestal. Or who demand that a gold medalist MUST be a puppet on their string, performing when they want, where they want, especially if it on the runner's "home track".
The truth is, Centro has joined a conservative Christian religious group, and he has to go to their service on Saturday. THAT'S why he can't compete in the Bowerman Mile.
No...it's because he didn't take the garbage out, and Daddy, who is now his dual coach, causing AlSal some acid reflux, grounded him and won't let him go out and play track on Saturday.
No...it's because he's going through cold turkey from NOP drug addictions.
No...it's because he is a smart athlete who is nursing a nagging injury and, consequently, has wisely chosen to prioritize greater goals this season than doing well in the Bowerman Mile. Like making the US team for London, and then peaking at the World Championships.
Or he, as a smart professional athlete, has another legitimate reason for bowing out of one race in May.
Here ya go...Centro says he picked up "an untimely virus"

yeah perfect timing to avoid the media tent and all the questions about the leak.
i predict him to get "injured" right before US nationals as well
Wait, why go to a large public event if you just caught a cold (or whatever) that is serious enough to keep you from competing?

No, he timed it properly.
Disappointing. Just saw him running yesterday evening.

And that virus's name is Alberto Salazar.

Would it hurt his drawing power if he got smoked? I imagine there aren't enough meets that pay an appearance fee that it doesn't matter but that's what I thought.
Of course, he smoked Mo Farah last week so why would he be scared?

Easy Cowboy! You need to put away that Centro Flavored Lip Gloss your smearing on your face and relax. Obviously you're not familiar with being an Olympic Champion/Celebrity and the responsibility that comes with it. Of course if he's injured and being a "Smart Athlete" he shouldn't run.....No Sh*t!!! He then needs to hold a press conference with Alberto at his side stating that. He's arguably the biggest name at this meet of which he IS obligated to run in if healthy. And yes....he is a Nike "Puppet" on a string and must run when and where they want him to. They pay this dude a boat load of money to represent the brand and to have him run in their signature U.S. meet is not an option it's MANDATORY. With all the crap going down with NOP this week and Centro being mentioned as having "Suspect" test results not to mention his Dad now being involved it sure seems like a HUGE coincidence doesn't it??? I personally believe he's injured and or nicked up but you can't dismiss the timing of this without some suspicion.
