He should go for it like Danny Komen. Get after it from the start and see what happens. 3:56 at the mile and come back with 4:02

Why are american distance runners perpetually lame?
Centro, you're the Olympic gold medalist. Yes, this field has some good Americans in it, but you don't need to be "focused on competing." You need to drop the hammer and let them focus on competing.

no one in schumachers group will get under 8:10, probably no one at all . i think Rupp's record is safe.
Hill's PB is 7:30 (outdoor) and he is probably the only other american who can kick with Centro in a 3k. they should go for it. most people aren't in 7:30 3k shape in Mid-January though. UNLESS THEY ARE IN SALAZAR'S TRAINING GROUP
but alberto knows better than to let one of his athletes go after another athlete's AR
I think you're going to be extremely surprised. Ahmed is extremely good shape right now. I'll leave it at that. Good luck to all.
fact: ..Lagat's 3k best is 7:29 (outdoor)

The problem is that Centro became satisfied…and lazy after Rio…and his fancy pants OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL.
His last race was sort of pathetic for Centro. It was like a 3K in 7:49.
Come on.
Centro got lazy, pudgy, and out-of-shape...with his gold medal.
Sir Slow Mo became 2x as lazy, pudgy, and out-of-shape as Centro…with his 2 gold medals.
Mo has to go to Ethiopia to try to do high-volume-high-intensity training at high altitude with special blocks, heavy squats, and Russian plyometrics to try to get in shape and improve his running economy... while Centro stays in the USA and destroys ALL runners (e.g. Craig Lutz) for fun on the weekend.
OK?
Anything this punk does is illegitimate. He is clearly doping.
His opening race last year was a 3k in which he didn't break 7:50. He ran faster alone this year. He's obviously in better shape now than he was a year ago. This race is still a few weeks out. I think he's racing a mile before then which will give us a better idea of what shape he's in. He probably won't break the AR but he could go 8:10.
I say he'll win this race, but it will be close. Ryan Hill second. Then it could be anyone's game. Just my prediction but it will be close no matter who wins IMO nobody will be running away from the field.
I would bet the house that Centrowitz will win this race. However, he will not dip under 8:07. The 7:49 3k he just ran has predictive power. I bet they run like 61.5, 2:04.5, 64.xx, 64.xx (4:14sh), 63, 63, 62, 58. My prediction is like 8:15-8:19. This will be a strong run indoors without the bona fide record attempt. Remember, Rupp had a dedicated pacer for 1800 meters.
You are more annoying than Ventolin.
Please stop going on about Mo Farah unprovoked
It is boring.
Rupp ran a 3:50 mile and sub 13 5k. Centro is basically the same speed over a mile and much slower for 5k so I don't think its really a possibility.
I could see sub 8:10 though.
8:12 would be a great run at 168St
is this r/advanced running? wrote:

You think they would let the pace fade like that so early? If they're going for time that'd just be lazy, but even from a tactical standpoint I doubt anyone in Schumacher's group is thinking they could outkick Centro in a slower race. Keeping it honest is their best chance to take something out of his legs especially since he "hadn't touched strength training" (according to him) before his 7:49... and unless it's record pace I really hope they close faster than 58.

People are obsessed with Centrowitz. He won Gold from slowest race in over 60 years. Sure it was tactical and he's a great runner, but he won't go down in history as one of the greats - times not nearly fast enough. Sad!
The only Americans with a faster 1500m time than Centro are the Africans Lagat and Sydney Maree.

I was about to say this. Jerry's guys are almost never in great shape during indoors (obviously not always true). There's always talk about them and going after a fast race here or there, and it rarely happens. I would love to see a fit Centro and a fit Hill really go after it here.
God he really is

There is nothing you can do to stop me. You are absolutely powerless.
You are now in a completely hopeless and boring 2017 situation.
I am sorry about that.

I'd be shocked if Centro DOESN'T break it.

We have no idea what kind of shape he is in now. Someone said the 3 x 1 mile in 4:05, 4:01, 3:57 workout was made up by Jenkins and they were really doing 800s. Is that true that Jenkins made it up?
Can Junior Centro finally run a 5000m faster than Senior Centro (13:12.91) = Centro still can't beat his father's time at 5000m???
as seen in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_SkBU09maAThere is another runner who leads for part of the race. The other runner has the exact same running form as…Kenenisa Bekele…but...
...the other runner is ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED BY SENIOR CENTRO!!!
I am sorry about that Albuterol Salbutamol.
No chance
