As a person who actively identifies as trans and is a student of the sport and track nerd in general, while also championing the human rights shit that trans people fight for, I have to say this is appalling.
I don't think semenya should compete with the women unless her testosterone levels are lower; the advantage she has is clear as evidenced by her previously lowered levels and now being back to her natural levels.
I don't think these trans athletes should compete in whichever sport they are in either, as they've apparently already competed as males in their given sport and are now doing so as women in the same sport.
This isn't some big victory, its a slap in the face to female born athletes while also not making the fight for equal rights that trans people face any easier, since they will be mis-gendered more easily due to these "athletes" "accomplishments" in their disciplines.
Even with hormone therapy, and to some extent a full sex change operation, there's still the added benefits of having grown with biologically male body and the benefits of higher bone density and whatnot as previously mentioned in the article.
This is getting into pistorious territory almost.
Let them identify and live how they want, but don't have them smear female athletics when they shouldn't even be competing as females at all.
