Just re-watched it. I would rule: Little to no contact and if any it was incidental and equally to blame. No call!!

LOOK! Home straight! DQ!!!

are you serious the guy punched Avila on the back! He might have knocked the wind out of him and knocked him out of race mode. Avila should protest!
Punched? Holy sh*t, you sound like a wiener.

Nope. Blankenship was outside of lane 1. Manzano mid lane 2. Both moved a little toward each other. If anything, Manzano moved more. Little to no contact. No call.
DQ that f***er. I don't want that guy in a USA singlet.

I think Blankenship may have been the one who tripped Martinez in ghe 800 final too.

Maybe he's disqualified. Maybe not. But that guy had demonstrated himself a jerk and a loser so many times.
Nothing to DQ on and what motivates you to say these things?

That BB pushed with a closed fist. Bad.
It was more like a forearm shiver. Idk if dq worthy but it was not subtle.

And shot JFK.

Almost impossible to discern, and if this is the case, keep in mind that these are split second reactions/reflexes. It takes a lot longer to push with an open palm - or as you would probably prefer, to gently caress the competitor in front - as it does to regain balance with the back of the hand.
Protest has been filed by Manzano's people.
Totally agree with this post. Mutual on bumping and then the straightaway finish was nothing as I've seen many finishes in these trials with someone on the line of lane one down in the finishing stretch versus hugging the rail. Give me a break Rojo.

No, no way will they DQ him. That was nothing even remotely close to a DQ. It was the result of mutual contact, not him just pushing Avila, 2 completely different things.
rojo wrote:We saw the yellow flag come up. It happened right in front of us. It appeared that on the first or 2nd lap Blankenship pushed Avila forward and the yellow flag came up. I immediately turned to our guys and asked them what they thought and they all said, "They better not DQ him. He pushed Avila forward and helped him." It was rough racing but it was early in the race.
It will be interesitng to see what happens.

You don't need contact to impede someone.
Just force them to change their stride.
I noticed both moves and the first looked like it was simple jostling while the second looked more deliberate. However, the Lion wouldn't have had the gass to complete. And Lion be Hoka while Ben be Nike. No DQ

Movement/drifting looked equal to me, maybe a little more by Manzano. Incidental in my eyes and I was pulling for Manzano.

Sorry, but a closed fist is not a normal running move. It is not impossible to discern for the judge who put up the yellow flag. For you yes, impossible.
I thought that was Ted Cruz's father.

Really? Then over 1/2 dozen athletes would have been DQ'ed in the trials. Did you watch ALL of the races? Force them to change their stride? Please, get a brain.

The Nike people win. No DQ
