Ashton is the best example since he has actual PRs in those events.
But it wouldn't be unfathomable for a person with range -- say Mo Farah to win:

3k steeple
5k
10k
marathon
The 400 would be a struggle, but 49 gets it done.

Katie Ledecky at 1500 is the only reason this might be interesting. Hard to compare distance PRs since Phelps rarely swims distance, but his 400/800/1500 prs are
Phelps: 3:46 (age 18) / 8:16 (age 14) / 15:34 (age 21) [from usaswimming.org]
Ledecky: 3:58, 8:06, 15:25
400 is the only real solid point of comparison since Phelps rarely swims distance, so I think Phelps would beat her in any single event with enough rest, but swimming against her after a full schedule of events wouldn't be trivial. Only a handful of the top male swimming who'd have a chance to win from 50 to 1500 in freestyle plus the strokes. (Lots of swimmers just can't swim breaststroke,which narrows this down a lot.) Somebody like Phelps who excels at 200/400 IM are the only ones with a chance.
This is all to say just to point out what an amazing swimmer Ledecky is (her 1500m PR would have been good for 12th in the US Men's 2012 olympic trials).
I know what you're implying, but I don't see what the big deal is. It's like saying if an elite athlete decided to compete in a DIII nationals or a podunk high school meet, how many events would he/she win? Rojo just dressed it up so that people can get all bothered by the current state of events.

She would have to learn a new technique in the hurdles 100mh as well as the barriers are only just above knee height on an actual woman. Bascially he sorry she would need to unlearn how to hurdle. 400m H he could basically just ignore them

Given how fast he is and how good he is in the long jump, we assume he could win the triple jump as well but maybe he should hold off until 2020 to try to learn this new event. But that's 10 golds.
In the throws, it's hard to compare his PRs to the winning marks at the Worlds/Olympics as the implements are different sizes but we're definitely giving him gold in the shot put. So that's 11. We forgot about the relays. Give him two more golds for the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400.
In the javelin, his PR of 66.64m is close to the 67.69m winning mark from 2015 Worlds and the women's javelin is 25% lighter (21 ounces versus 28) so it seems like he'd have a good shot there. That being said, a throws coach we talked to said in some ways it's harder to throw a women's javelin than a men's as it's like throwing a paper airplane and thus he'd have to learn a totally new throwing technique. We're not sure about the discus where his 47.36m pb is way off the 69.28m it took to win Worlds last year but the women's discus is half as heavy as the men's.
We think it's very safe to say Ashton Eaton could win at least 10 gold in women's track and field alone. If we were advising Eaton, we'd tell him to focus on going for at least 10 track golds in 2016. Even if he slipped up in one of the events where we think he could win gold in, he'd have a shot at a medal in the 800 as well. Then in 2020, we'd urge Eaton to expand his horizons. Do you not think he'd be dominant in boxing, rowing, weightlifting, and wrestling? We even think he'd make an excellent winger in soccer. Even if his skill isn't the best, he'd make an amazing offensive sub with his speed as he could get a breakaway or finish set pieces.
When you add it all up, 15, maybe 20, gold medals isn't out of the question. Of course, he might once again be playing second fiddle to Michael Phelps once again as Phelps would win virtually every women's gold medal in swimming.

Caitlyn Jenner is now legally considered a woman, if you ask her what her best 400 meter time is, she can HONESTLY say 47.51, does this make Caitlyn Jenner the womens world record holder in the 400? after all she has run faster than the longstanding (or should it be former) world record of 47.60 by Marita Koch.
I think she'd have a decent shot at the 800 as well. His heptathlon 1000m performance suggests he could comfortably get well under 2:00 for 800m.

This is a very good post because this is where some of these politically correct gender decisions are going to be going in the future.I have nothing against Caster Semenya. She did nothing wrong, but she should not be competing against women when her hormone levels are elevated. Everything about this case seems wrong. It makes me very un-interested to watch the women's 800m. Even the drugged up Russian 800m runners seemed more legit than Caster. It is sad when one of the participants in the race is so much better than the rest that she really is embarrassed to win. It is sad that they are letting her compete with naturally inflated hormone levels. Just wait until transgender women start arguing for their right to compete.

Of course Caitlyn is the women's WR holder. She was really a women at the time, even if the public didn't know it. Denying her the women's WR is no different than saying that Billie Jean King or Martina Navratilova weren't great lesbian tennis players while they were still in the closet.

He didn't start the discussion. Those telling us that a man can compete in women's events did, but I agree that it is stupid and inane, and I think that's exactly what he was trying to point out. He is showing how easy it is to end women's sports under the new gender identity rules. Mission accomplished.
I resisted clicking on this thread for as long as I could. Other posters have put it far better than I would, but let me just add that the whole concept is dumb. No elite male is going to lie and pretend to be transgender just to win some medals and then either:
a. turn back to a man and forever be that creep who cheated women out of medals in order to stroke his own ego, or
b. live as a woman just to keep up the lie even though you don't feel like a woman in any way. You'd end up celebrated in the GLBT etc. community and go completely insane.

I want men to be able to enter the women's division so they can Dominate and we could finally get rid separate gender divisions. Men will dominate and women can go back to ironing clothes and folding and baking. All sports will be all men whether they call themselves men or males or identify as men or transgender or whatever label you like to give it. It's all actuallly men , and that's what counts. The best way to get sports to be all male only is to let trans women suck all the potential for biological women to hold their own. I think this should be done for the armed forces. No more lightening the tests based on Antiquated gender concepts. We all hit the standards or u don't get to be a soldier.
