Haven't had cable in 20 years. Way too much garbage.
I do Netflix, hulu and piss away time on the internet in general.
What did you do in the years before Netflix was created?
Never had cable, one year when I lived off campus in college but thats because my roommate really wanted it.
I have an unlimited data plan on my two cell phones
No cable, no wifi
I have a 10 dollar antenna for local channels
I can hook my smart tv to my hotspot and stream netfilx I get 5 gigs on each phone, I'd i had a Samsung/android I could just shoot the netfilx to the screen and could watch an unlimited amount.
I watch a lot of YouTube
I pay for internet only. Never had cable.
Netflix subscription for kids, and occasional movie for us.
If a sport event is on usually I can stream it through Comcast. or I find it via Reddit.
Cancelled cable several years ago when we were paying $22 /mo and they raised it to $24 (10%!). Don't know how people justify paying $80+ /mo and I don't consider myself a spendthrift, the value-proposition is just not that good any longer. Satellite antenna cost me $60 and an hour on the roof with a wrench. I have paid subscriptions to Netflix and MLB.TV, both can stream to the television via chromecast as does USATF.TV. Basically we pay much less for more of what we want. Problem solved.
1. Got tired of paying for content that was ~1/3 ads.
2. Amazon Prime, Netflix w/ 2DVDs, Sling (ESPN/TNT for sports, CNN for breaking/election news), antenna on roof.
3. More money in my pocket. Discovered a massive trove of high-level entertainment (international/documentaries/concerts) that I hadn't really explored previously.
Have you ever heard of a person who ditched cable but later went back to fill the void in their life? Neither have I.
I did, but it led to a few problems.
