Okay, but I'm not talking about ignoring him. You could finish the race in 20 seconds, and have an ambulance on its way from the finish line immediately. Seems like the ambulance could get to the runner at least as quickly as you could drag the runner to it.
I'm not saying that one shouldn't render aid. I just don't see the benefit in moving a person vs. bringing help to them.
In your mind, would the collapsed runner have been at increased risk if one of the helpers had stayed to render CPR/first aid if it became necessary, while the other had finished and had an ambulance return immediately?
