you will see people on foot crossing those roads all day long it is not closed to pedestrians or runners
Idiot, who are those people crossing the road controlled by?, and the runners running the course have to be registered, otherwise the organizers with the assistance of the police have the authority to remove them just as they have the authority to stop people on foot crossing the road.
Exactly where can you show that ANY police department has announced closing of any street to other than vehicular traffic???
Here is Wellesley PD announcement:
http://www.wellesleypolice.com/index.cfm/page/Road-Closures-Boston-Marathon-April-20,-2015/cdid/12450/pid/10237Says nothing about closed to non-authoirzed participants or pedestrians or runners. Only traffic.
Now the B.A.A. says:
RULES FOR UNAUTHORIZED PARTICIPANTS ON RACE DAY
For the safety of official participants and spectators, the B.A.A. strictly prohibits unofficial participation in the Boston Marathon, and those in violation are subject to interdiction. Those who are not officially registered in the Boston Marathon will not be allowed to participate. Official participants are asked to discourage family and friends who are not officially registered participants from entering the course in any manner. Many people want to participate in some way in the Boston Marathon as a display of support, but those who are not official participants are asked to refrain from entering the course for the safety of the runners and themselves. There are several other opportunities which enable a show of support for the Boston Marathon, including the B.A.A. 5K on April 16, attending the John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo, volunteering, or spectating. Anyone on the course for any distance who has not been assigned, or is not displaying, an officially issued bib number from the B.A.A. is subject to interdiction. The B.A.A. reserves the right to remove any person from the course who is not displaying an official bib that has been assigned by the B.A.A. Similarly, units or groups such as military ruck-marchers, unless officially sanctioned, and cyclists will not be allowed to participate.
The B.A.A. and the police are 2 different things.
"subject to interdiction" means you could be stopped
nothing about being arrested, although I suppose if you were a jerk about it they could get you for disorderly conduct
So once again, the roads are closed to vehicular traffic by police, show me where the police have issued a no trespassing notice for the course????? They could but I do not think they have
