So true.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_XA4IdT_9kMight as well line up and race the 400m.

a lot of athletes/sports people do a lot worse in regard to not showing others respect, I'm not buying that tbh, I think its the thought that he is doping and not getting caught that has people up in arms about him, what about the rest of them if that's the case...I don't know if he's doping or not and I would hope he's not but i'm not a hater anyway.
Great race today by kamwiorr, unreal show of guts to do what he did after the fall he had...is he doping? nobody knows...the Kenyans are notoriously poor at testing, god knows what these fellas are at back home!
The irony of some Letsrun posters.
Hate Farah because they think he is dirty, but want him to lose to people from a Nation named officially as having very poor anti-doping controls and subsequently placed on a watch list by the IAAF and had anti-doping officials suspended by the IAAF amid corruption accusations.
It's the same reason people cheer when Duke loses or if Lebron luses. People like seeing those on top get beat. Sport is more interesting.
OP remember haters speak louder than fans. Most people like or are indifferent to Farah

So then, it seems to me that there is almost universal hate for Farah on here....why?
Is it because he is African, but runs for Britain?
Some clarification please...tks
a) I don't hate him. why should I?
b) he is british. try to keep up.

In 2012 he started doing the mo bot on the finishing straight of the national 1500m, total disrespect for the rest of the field.
I don't buy that. Ovett was far worse at that sort of thing and everyone lapped it up including me.
Scotchman, Ovett never had a PED cloud hanging over him, big difference.

How could anyone like him (British fanboys excepted)? Mediocre runner becomes world beater when hooks up with shady coach. Overwhelming circumstantial evidence of PED usage.
This seems like a logical comment. But it is not.
The fastest runner in the world has to come from somewhere.
The chances of any one person being the best are 1 in billions.
But the fastests has to come from somewhere.
It is most likely that he would come from the ranks of the top 20.
This is precisely where Mo came from.
It is much much more suspicious when an athlete comes out of no-where
(like many of the Kenyans) and then disappears.

False. Pros and track fans dislike Farah for all the reasons stated many times on multiple threads. The uninformed Brit is a fan purely from name recognition. The uninformed American wouldn't even know who he was if they shared a cab.
Can we flip this round, perhaps - can someone put forward reasons for us to LIKE Mo Farah?
I'm struggling to come up with (m)any.
He seems like an ok guy, I think it is his association with the NOP that people then seem leery of him.
It's called the "Patriot Effect"
In football, the Patriots have been the best team in the NFL for 15 years. Unless you're a fan of the team, if you watch football, you probably hate them.
USA is the best country in the world for a long long time, and everyone hates us.
Mo has been the best for a long time now, so naturally people grow to hate him. Everyone is rooting for that upset. And then of course some people hate him because they think he's on drugs, but I think most of the hate is because it feels old to see the same person dominate for so long.

I don't agree. Also I wouldn't consider uninformed Brit and Americans to be fans.
He is hated for the same reason as Galen.
Common denominator?
If I were to join ISIS I should expect hate to come with it.

No one hated Bekele or Geb.
I'm not sure that Mo really is that disliked in Britain. Certainly, at events I have seen him run in the UK such as London DL, he gets a deafening response from the home fans. Even abroad in Europe he gets a pretty good response.
He isn't as popular as other Brit sports stars like Andy Murray, but then athletics is a whole lot less popular, especially long distance running.
Athletics = doping is also a problem.
I have always said that Mo is one of the pretty good runners of all time. He may not be great, but give him his due. He can mix it up with the world's best usually. Third place ain't bad.
A lot of LR posters think Mo is a wimp 'cause he's a kicker.
I'm a fan of Mo. I've never had a problem with kickers.
Oh, and a lot of LR posters are dumb as a bag of rocks too, as far as I can tell. Ignorant and quick to condemn this, or that, pretty much.
Was a Mo fan at 1st now sick of
1) always sit and kick
2) many times seems to face weak fields when racing in UK
3) the stupid Mo-bott
I don't understand why people dislike Mo because he wins a lot. The Africans have been winning for 20 years and will do so again after Mo is retired. There is no great white hope to beat the no name Kenyans and the sport will continue to flounder with guys who are 'Very Very happy' to win and not an ounce of charisma between them. Caleb is the exception though so if any Kenyan were to win I hope it be him.
