I dont think Centro would have been able to hold him off if he had waited till 50 to go, Andrews looked like he used most of his kick on the curve

Would have liked to see him sit on Centro's shoulder instead of making the cardinal tactical error of trying to pass in the turn, then jump him on the final straight. Seemed like he burned a lot of needless effort there.

The Robby Andrews bro-love is sicking on LRC. . . This is the opposite of the Galen hate. Galen has a bleeping silver Olympic medal. Robby has ??? So call me when he does what Galen did. Then the Rob-love will have some basis in fact.
Are you really naive enough to think people only root for individuals based on their results? If so, we'd all be Barry Bonds fans (we're not). And Tim Duncan fans. And Peyton Manning fans. But those guys aren't fun to root for. Robby Andrews is fun to root for because he's exciting. Do you really not get that?
I think if Robbie got back on the rail after getting past Blankenship and waited to the final straight to go past Centro he would have had him

Getting silver in the Olympic 10000 is not exciting? Geez, have an espresso or something.

You just listed a known PED user, a suspected PED user/known @sshole and a highly respected player known as one of the best in his position and also for his quiet demeanor. I'd say there's plenty of Tim Duncan fans and despite the questions regarding NOP that Rupp is closest to Duncan than the other two. Rupp may be awkward and goofy but he certainly has never stuck his bare ass in anyone's face.

It was a 3:48 race that kicked down to 3:44. Robby being a former 800 guy should have been jogging at that until the last 150 meters.
OMG why haven't other US 800m guys thought of this...they could literally JOG most of the race and then outkick Centro or whomever for the 1500 title!!!
This Blanketship guy has it figured out let me tell ya.
The appeal for me of Andrews is that he has always seemed like a really down-to-earth and relaxed guy. Note Centro's victory hand-pumps where of Andrews had won I think you'd just see eyes popping out of his head in joy. I get the impression from Andrews, in spite of all his successes, that he's legitimately thrilled every time he wins.
He also is extremely explosive and has a rawness to his movement. For all of the smoothness and beauty/composure to Centro's stride, when Andrews goes, you know, and I think that's exciting for people, just like Webb running a 12.0 second 100m and bombing out. There is a raw emotion attached to Andrews running that I find infectious, proof for me that it's not just if you can kick but how you kick.
Agreed on the points immediately above about the styles of Andrews v Centro. Makes Andrews much more likable. Plus, I think Andrews probably has more raw talent than Centro, but is just not as consistent yet. No one should be shocked to see Andrews beat Centro at Indoor Worlds, at OT, or in Rio.
You can clearly see from the photos that Centro swings a bit wide in the final 20 or so meters to cut off Andrews; or at least force him out slightly breaking his momentum - Classic Cheap Chicken $hit Win! If he'd of stayed in his lane, Andrews would have had him at the tap! Or, they would have collided. When someone does that, your natural human tendency is to back off slightly so you don't bang into each other. Since Andrew's isn't a jerk, he's not going to swipe someone to win a race! And I do like Centro as well, so it's not a NOP diss either!

I root for Galen too. Nowhere did I say I didn't. I was reminding the poster why people root for athletes since he seemingly couldn't fathom why anyone would root for Robby.
