So no one goes for either 1500m or 800m to Worlds?! Or is there time after Nationals to get Std? Thought it was a done deal this weekend.

Athletics Canada needs to put a cap on the slowest time you can run at Nationals to still qualify for Worlds. That's crap that my tax dollars are going to fund an athlete who earned his ticket to Worlds running 4:06. Kevin Sullivan and Taylor Milne wouldn't let that happen.
This will go down in history as the craziest race ever.
No, that would have to be the OUA 3000m this year.
Next year the runners should walk for 1100m while holding hands then sprint the last lap.
First of all, if all they had done this year was run 4:06, then they wouldn't qualify for Worlds. Second, your "tax dollars" argument holds no water; it's possible (but unlikely) that a dollar or two of what you pay in taxes goes to athletes, which would mean that any one athlete might get a fraction of a penny from you. They don't owe you anything.

I think the winner has the standard, no?
The men's race needs a foreigner like they had in the women's race to keep the pace honest.
The standard is 3:36.20.
Riva ran a personal best this year of 3:39.46.
Charles Philibert-Thibitout has run 3:38.32.
So you have to finish top-three at nationals, as those two did while from January 1st 2015 until tomorrow, under 3:36.20.
The third guy's pb is 3:53.
Levins, if he wanted it and Brannen could have should have and Charles could have - in other words we could have possibly...maybe...have three guys in the the worlds.
Looks like zero.
Not that it changes anything, but Gorman has run 3:40 not 3:53.
I see. I copy/pasted his indoor time by mistake. My bad. Always in a rush...

Looks like they were 2:12!!! at 700m with the leaders around 3:14.0 at the bell.
The women actually ran the first 700m faster than the men.
Needed this guy in the race
Easy to say in retrospect, but Levins should have just gone hard from the gun. Going 5:00+ pace for the first half just lets everybody into the race.

.
Maybe the top 3 guys should put a race together today. Why not? This 4:06 probably didn't tire them that much.
