Haters gonna hate! It is a fact that you losers can't stand someone doing better than you. Come back when you losers run a decent race agains him!

Totally agree. That was really classless.

he was running races around this time within a few months of his 3:34, so this does not mean that he will be running 3:40s all year. this is a good sign. he's continued to race. he won a race. he probably is progressing very gradually with the pace of his workouts so as to stay healthy but build up eventually to a trials qualifier and then better in Europe after the trials. He has very little shot at qualifying but I'd never count this guy out.
When he was running 3:4xs a couple months before his 3:34 he was just coming off an injury and wasn't totally fit yet. This race is totally different as he's been healthy for awhile now and yet has been consistently mediocre for several years. It would be great to see him make a worlds team, but he hasn't done anything in a long time that indicates he has the ability to do it.

Only middle-school aged girls say things like, "haters gonna hate".
Just thought you should know.
trolling is so easy here

That's not true. Just thought you should know. Plenty of older people say this.

He went to OK-State and passed two OU guys in the last 100m. If anything, it was a taunt to them.

Then you must be a middle-school aged girl who hangs out with middles-school aged girls! And thanks for the heads up!

Your logic is certainly on par for a middle-school aged girl.
I wish this Central Valley runner to get in shape so we can see two of the fastest products of the valley run head to head at worlds.

Wins the Stanford Invite 1500 in 3:42ish. Looked really relaxed so probably worth about 3:38
I remember Ryan Hall running 3:43 in college. Everyone said he was relaxed & had more in him. He hasn't run faster since. Easing off 0.5 sec in the final 200M will make an entire race appear relaxed & easy.
So no- German's 3:42 was worth 3:42.

Some of you are really dumb. If German's splits were une end, then his performance was indeed worth something faster.
Was there.. Relaxed is an understatement. Immediately after the race he mentioned to a Bowerman tc teammate that he hadn't even done any speed work yet. Low 3:30's is in the cards this season my friends
His post-race workout (2k slightly over 5k pace, only an hour later!) was further evidence of said relaxation. Just another day at the office.
Tri?

FYI He didn't actually win... The winner came out of one of the slower seeded sections and ran 3 seconds faster. So give credit to the guy who actually won the overall race.
He executed his race strategy and won.
Glad to see him win a race.
I don't give people faster times based on how they looked but the win is promising and better than some recent races. I'd like to see him run more 5000s. I wonder what he will focus on.
To those criticizing the celebration - calm down. The guy has not won in years. It must feel good to win. I have not seen the celebration but my sense is that some people here spend too much time on post-race etiquette. It's like the guys who analyze Rupp handshakes with Solinksky or Bumbalough. Unless its really egregious, you should just ove on.

You might say that his Olympic-qualifying 5000, his sub-60 HM, and his marathons confirmed that his fast relaxed 1500 was indeed a sign off better things to come.
Should German pack it up and go into triathlon?

To be in the money by nationals he will have to find 6 seconds beyond todays 3:43. Great race by German!
He's obviously joking.
Even though his 3:43 is only worth a 3:43 though, if he stays healthy for a couple months he really will run 3:34 as previously mentioned. The guy is a total freak of nature.
Then post he is back when he does it
