In case it was missed, I agree.

Isn't the point to race and win? People sound like idiots. Should Rowbury let Hasay win to be a good teammate? Hell no! She should kick to win! That's championship racing people.

Agree. Race to win. Did Rupp let Farah win the Olympic gold?
Hasay was the 2nd best runner in the field, and she finished second. What was Rowbury's racing strategy that was so offensive? She was fastest -- she stayed out of trouble, she moved up through the field, she kicked, she won. Kind of like what happens in lots of footraces. Rowbury is a superior athlete to Hasay. No news there. I doubt if any of this was a surprise to Hasay. She did her best to outrun a better runner, and -- as usually happens -- the better runner won. Hasay is working during this indoor season at the short end of her racing range, and all of this will probably help make her a better 10k runner. She has had a good indoor season. Rowbury has had an excellent indoor season, too.
All this other "who was pissed" stuff is nonsense.

Yes, by breaking wind for Farah to maximize Farah's kick.
Jordan just lost a race. Anyone would be pissed! Rowbury is 30 years old. Jordan is 23. I believe Jordan will be our nation's top middle AND long distance runner when she's 30. Salazar has her on the right track and Jordan has the attitude and compassion towards the sport to make it happen.

Sorry! Snow and rain here and my Internet was down!

I disagree that she was pissed at Rowbury for tactics. I think she was just pissed/frustrated that she lost. It looked to me like she was doing her best not to let Shannon pass her (as Rowbury said in her post race interview on tv). I was impressed with the way Hasay raced, and she almost won. I like the competitiveness to be frustrated at the end like that, shows she really wanted to win and not just fold over because she knows Rowbury is great in practice.
That race made me much more of a Jordan Hasay fan, to be honest. But hey, maybe I'm wrong about all of this
+1
Gutsy race by hasay - I'm sure everyone was cheering for her but she ain't got the wheels yet.
Great to see her try. That girl loves to run.
Hi, Where can I watch this race? Do you have a link?
Thanks
glad that more than 1 person has some common sense around here. yep, most succinct and spot on analysis of all. Jordan will get there, just needs another year or two, but fortunately the trend is good. yes, she still gets outkicked on a regular basis, but it's by less and less all the time, and she truly has some wheels, just hasn't had the chance to show them yet. it will come young one, it will come.

unrelated, but what's up with rowbury's pink lipstick? it doesn't make her look elegant or hip. perhaps i'm wrong and she's intentionally going for the different or 'notice me' look, "i'm an awesome runner with a bland personality for the media?, but.... she looks like a freak.
i'm not being sexist here, look at it objectively. why pink lipstick in T&F?
not my real name. wrote:

100% agree. I was glad to see her pissed at the end. And, I've been impressed by her progress. I'm really looking forward to see her running 5K and 10Ks outdoors.
As a father who's daughter runs (she's good, but not elite), I'd be proud if my daughter carried herself like Jordan.

When Shannon grabbed her arm to say congrats after the race Hasay looked away....and I would have also! Shannon sat on her and b!tch sprinted her at the end. It's OK in normal competition, but if you have a plan with a teammate and deviate from that just so you can jump them the last 100, youre a BAD teammate! Again, I think it's perfectly fine to do to anyone else when racing, but Shannon said they had orders of how to race. Selfish, selfish, selfish!
Yeah, Rowbury was trying SO hard to go and talk to Hasay, OBVIOUSLY knowing she had pulled a b!tch move, and then she made such a big deal about it in the interview. Corny lady. Too much lipstick.

Your delusional:). Jordan Hasay has run 4:08. Cain has run 4.05. Efraimson has run 4:07. Cranny ran 4:11. Thats just the high schoolers. Then their are her rough peers of people like Abbey d'agonstino,Emma coburn, Emily SISSON and Emily Stities and the odds of her being the top 5/10k person also shrink.
Hasay should be a shoo in for the 10k worlds. Flannagan (if she runs), Huddle (if she runs). Connelly, Goucher? Who else is in the competition?
HAH HAH 2 girls from San Fran and L.A. in a bloody cotex rivalry:
Giants vs Dodgers
Frisco vs La La Land
Rowbury vs Hasay
Here are post -race interviews with Hasay and Rowbury. Rowbury admitted she was supposed to lead a few laps:

Hasay seemed resigned to the fact Shannon was going to beat her no matter what:
