Sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately this is the consequence of the "a calorie is a calorie" nonsensical mentality and the rejection of biology as a legitimate science by the medical mainstream.
In my book anyone working as a health professional who uses the phrases "a calorie is a calorie"; "calories in versus calories out"; or "disease is caused by too many calories" is committing a criminal act. The public at large doesn't really stand a chance as long as those appointed as the voices of authority don't know their arse from their elbow.
LOL x 1000.
What on earth are you rambling on about....yet again?
When medical professionals comment that a "calorie is a calorie", they are discussing the simple fact that when it comes to weight loss (and fat loss for the most part), yes, absolutely the most important part is indeed "calories in and calories out", and where the calories come from, or how the calories are burned, is secondary to the totals. And the reality that people think they can get around this basic fact by going on all sorts of nonsense fad diets, which are supposed to work for all these pseudo-scientific reasons, is counter-productive for them. And yes, absolutely, significant weight and fat loss will confer many health benefits for obese people no matter what they are eating or how they are exercising.
And so you are calling it a "criminal act" for health professionals to cut through all the hype and fad diet BS and state the MOST BASIC FACTS about obesity? And you state that these basic FACTS are a "rejection of biology"? If so, this makes you a clown of epic proportions.
(no medical or health or nutrition professional has ever stated that ONLY "calories in and calories out" matters for OVERALL HEALTH. Never. They've only stated it directly in relation to fat/weight loss. So stop with that particular strawman )
It is so entertaining that anonymous Limey UK Runner, who has demonstrated a complete ignorance of so much concerning health, weight loss, and diet, is taking to task medical professionals for not knowing "their arse from their elbow." Oh the irony! WTF do *you* know about biology? Clearly not much. But you do know a $hit-ton about fad diets and non-"mainstream medical" (lol, try: alternative BS) nutrition info. Congrats on that.
