See, this is why I'm not wealthy. I'd never thought of that. Thanks.

They're $85 on 6pm right now.
Running with less than 60 miles on a pair of Hoka Clifton 2's. During that time I noticed a susceptibility to ankle rolling, having hit a couple of uneven surfaces and had my ankle twist. While running towards traffic on November 20, 2015, I transitioned from the street to the curb. My left foot landed squarely in the middle, but my right foot didn't quite make the curb. I have thousands of running miles under my belt... so I am no novice. I attribute the inability to negotiate the curb to the added height of the Hokas. The result: my right foot Hoka-rolled right, which was followed by a crushing downward motion on my entire foot and followed by a large CRACK! as my 5th metatarsal cracked. I am 100% positive that I would have never incurred this injury had I been running in my trusty Brooks Ravenna 4's. I am kicking myself (with my left foot) for listening to a friend's advice to go to a "shoe rotation." Surgery to insert a screw was on December 1st. I am supposed to be walking by Jan. 4th, five weeks after surgery. As fate would have it, I had just purchased my second pair of Hokas to keep in the mix. So I have two pairs with a grand total of 60 miles between them. They are nice looking, so I am going to keep them as "walk around shoes," but I shall NEVER run in Hokas again. Too bad, because they definitely felt great to run in, but they are just too unstable!
Surgery to insert a screw because of bad balance in the shoes -
That's a pretty good hate post.
i hate hokas
i hate that they remind me twice a week that i'm too old to stay healthy in pegs anymore
i hate that the clifton's are too narrow and i have to cut a hole for my little toe, especially with winter upon us
i hate that hokas last so long that their foul smell summons the hazmat team to my house
i hate that hokas keep me healthy so i only missed 18 days in 2015 (and that was due to a groin pull from being tackled by a dog)

Everyone write their terrible experiences or reasons Hoka's suck below
p.s. Hoka's were invented by the devil to create weak runners
1. I hate that many Hoka shoes are seriously overpriced considering how quickly the rubber patches wear down. Seriously, if you're paying $150 for a pair of running shoes, the outsole should last longer than 300 miles before it wears down into the midsole.
2. I hate the paper-thin tongues on some of the models.
3. I hate HATE HATE the Clifton. It is the worst running shoe I've ever used. It is way too soft and unresponsive, like running in sand, and it causes my big toes serious strain.
4. I hate the clown-like, platform shoe look of some of the models. Like the Clifton.
5. I hate that they're discontinuing the Huaka. It's the best running shoe I've ever worn--perfect cushioning and responsiveness. The stack height of the midsole is much less than most other Hoka models, and it's not so clownish, at least in the more mild colors. Of course, I hate that the Huaka's rubber outsole patches wear out too quickly (see number 1 above). If the outsole lasted longer on the Huaka, I wouldn't have five pairs of them right now just to make sure I'm able to run in the best running shoe I've ever worn for the next year or two.
6. I hate that more people don't give the Huaka a chance, especially when you can get it right now at RunningWarehouse.com for just $46 when you use coupon code FB15D.
Hey HRE,
I've been running in the Nike Free & Saucony Kinvara for the last 4 years.
I got a pair of Hoka Stinsons and they were too clunky for me
I got a pair of Hoka Huakas on the running warehouse (?) site for $54 dollars. They have a 2mm drop and are as light as the Free. The cushioning is similar but seem more supportive. The only drawback is they lack the flexibility of the Free, but they're great shoes. I bought 2 more pair.
They're a discontinued shoe so if you want to give them a try do it now.
This isn't much of a hate page.
I've recently seen a local 2:10 marathoner running in Hokas.

Right, the problem was the shoes, not your poor sense of balance.
DeSean Turner ruptured his achilles. Could it be because of training in Hokas but competing in track spikes?
I hate that Hoka was sponsoring fast track runners when they did not even make a spike. Sure it may have been good for the runner, and good for Hoka, but it seemed contrived.
I hate that my Hokas are too narrow in the forefoot and gave me a corn.
I hate the late transition midsole on some Hokas. Since the midsole does not flex, if messes with my desired mid/forefoot strike. I hate that the Stinson ATR only feels decent if I modify my form to heel strike.
I hate that I feel somewhat obligated to try to use these shoes since I spent so much $ on them.

"A local 2:10 marathoner"??? Where do you live, Nairobi?
I hate that they've publicized the carbon rocket, but won't make it available to the public for quite some time if at all.
I hate the Clifton (but like the Huaka).
I hate that they don't have all of their models available in wide widths.
I hate that they cost SO much.
Felt exactly the same way and just got a pair online for $54.88, total price with free 2 day shipping. I would NOT pay $150, but for what I paid, I like them a lot. Neutral shoe and my first time wearing them was great. No, I'm not a shill and I have zero vested interest, but felt the same way and thought I'd share my experience. Carry on mates.

Let me see if anyone has an opinion about this. I've had arthritis in my right knee for years and have been shuffling around for all that time hoping to sort it out. What I've found is that more cushioning in shoes makes it worse so my best shuffling is in shoes that are as far from Hokas as you can go, e.g. Asics Blazing Fast, New Balance Road Minimus, etc.
But I do keep seeing these testimonials from broken down old guys who say that Hokas have rejuvenated them. I'm intrigued and would get a pair in a minute if they were $49.95. But they aren't and I don't want to spend $150 on a shoe that's going to sit in my closet after a week. Do any of you Hoka guys know of anyone who had been running in very minimalist things, got some Hokas and done better in them than in their minimal shoes?

I hate that they are supporting lesser known US Athletes, as I think we should return to the amateur status rules Pre had to deal with, and that all track athletes should be forced to live off of food stamps in order to avoid pulling a Carrie Fisher and becoming a fattie-mc-fatterson.
I also hate that they are allowing hobby joggers to pollute the streets long after their knees and swollen joints should have taken them out of the game.
Damn you Hoka.
Hoka's what?

How in the heck do you still have Ravenna 4's? They haven't been on the market for quite some time. Can't really even get 5's anymore. You must either have a lot of miles on them, or you bought a whole stash of them when they were still on the market.
P.S. Really sorry to hear about the injury. Sucks big time.
MSRP for the Cliftons are $130. I have almost 600 miles on my first pair, and still feel cushioned. Yes, they take getting used to, what shoe doesn't. I like them, the Ghosts, the Pegs, and Vomeros. All are great for me.
