2002 was a very, very bad year running-wise for me. In indoor track, I didn't take enough time off after cross country. I PRed in two events at the first meet of the season, but sucked it up the rest of the season. In outdoor, I did the exact opposite and did no off-season running. It took me forever to get in good shape, so by the time championship season came along I still wasn't in full shape. During summer training for XC, my running got interrupted by real-life problems, and I had no base when XC started. I ran two good races, and then ran consistently 2 minutes slower than my PR for the rest of the year. Overall, 2002 was a wash, running-wise.
