Maybe it's my interpretation but in this article he says the achilles was fine and that he wouldn't have had the neuroma operated on if he wasn't having the achilles procedure.

Yeah because the time frame to train for a December marathon is too short...jeesh. He's already in good shape; how many weeks does he need..?

Too bad, he looked fine on the recent Flo Track workout Wednesday video. If it's minor it may be a good thing because he really doesn't have enough time to train for Fukuoka.

Unfortunately, that era of golden promise is gasping its final breaths. Ritz is cooked, Webb has gone off the reservation, and Hall seems to be out of bullets.
How incredible would it be if Webb successfully transitions to the marathon, after building endurance through triathlon, and Ritz, Hall and Webb make the 2016 Oly Marathon Team?!?
Where dreams become reality!
It takes year after year of consistent training. The big mistake is thinking that you train for a marathon in a 12 or 16 week block. See 201O when Ritz rushed to get ready for New York after a year of injuries and ran 2:12.

Didn't the brojos have a prop bet on this?
Not like anyone signed up to race so they could say they ran with Ritz or something. Ask any of the plodders if they are upset about this and there response will be. "Who is Ritz?"
No we didn't have a prop bet. We said we'd pay peopl $50 if he committed to a marathon not named New York. When his name wasn't on the NYC list last week, a lot of people emailed trying to collect. We purposely worded it that way as we figured he might get hurt and not do a marathon.
NYC was probably making sure he was healthy.

I knew about the infection, but why do you think the surgery turned out to be unnecessary? I've never heard about that. Are you inferring the root cause of the injury (changing form) was unnecessary, or he wasn't actually injured?
Are you saying you've never heard of a surgery being unnecessary in general, or his surgery? If it's in general, you must not work in the medical field.

100% FALSE
Dathan wanted to run Chicago because the course is better suited for him. In the middle of the summer he realized that he would not be healthy enough to run Chicago. Dan Lilot then went to New York to try to get a payday. Dathan did not want to go to NY and told Dan that he would not be ready.
If Mary or David thought that he wanted to run NY and were worried about his health. They would have set up the contract accordingly. "No pay for dnf". They would have loved to announce his presence. The NYRR are all about announcements. They have every elite runners and wheelers tweeting the same morning as they announce the field.

what do you mean? We still have Lagat and Meb - two of the best.
Oh wait, wrong era of golden promise
Dumb A** should have stayed with Hudson.

Didn't even realize Teg had been quiet this year. What's he up to? Hurt?

I still don't see what is false about what we wrote. It had been said that Ritz was running a fall marathon. In our mind, there didn't seem to be enough time to do chicago so the only other financial option is New York.
Since you admit he wasn't doing Chicago, please tell us what marathon he was going ot do . On August 25th, he said,
"I am going to do a marathon, but I can’t say what it is yet."
What was that possibly going to be other than NYC?
What would Elvis do in your shoes?
It was going to be NYC. I wonder how much of a payday he can get from Houston. That would be a good place to chase a fast time.

He probably would have had Nike not essentially forced his hand on that one. Gotta pay the bills, and when the boss says "pick a group in Oregon," you do what you have to do.
Fukuoka. I hope he skips it but NEVER New York. The course is too difficult. Lilot will include NY simply for trying to get a big number to trot around.
