So Centro bought himself a Nissan GTR. Impressive. Kudos to him -- he deserves it.
For this season? No.
What would you say he deserves if he actually runs decently?

My guess is $150k base.
Bonuses and appearance fees add up quickly. Nothing outrageous in spending your bonus money on a fancy car.
Ummm, no. $150k total, maximum. This will only last a few more years, then young Centro will realize he can no longer afford the life style he desperately needed. Econ 101 tells you, save money for the future. Centro will not make $150k/yr forever.
Not the best move financially, but pro runners generally live a very monastic lifestyle. They are not going out to eat at fancy restaurants or going clubbing every night. No time for fancy vacations. And when have you every seen a pro runner wearing nice clothes? The guy does work hard and is under tremendous pressure. Why not splurge on something nice. May as well have a nice sports car when you are young instead of looking like midlife crisis man driving a GTR when you are 54.
He could be leasing it or regular financing? I doubt he bought it outright
The car is probably a "company car" or lease.Only a fiscal moron wastes his own money on a depreciating asset.

What do other pros drive? How many pro runners drive 100K+ sports cars?
Didn't Webb used to have a Civic with a custom license plate (1 Mile, or something like that).
I could never see Rupp in a sports car of any kind. Especially now with wife, twins, house, etc

Yeah anyone who wants to have fun is a moron.
Just from Nike is $250k/yr salary, not including bonus performance clauses like $25k for US Championships, etc.

how do we know this is true? and if it is true do we know it is a new car? a used gtr might be $60,000 - which is a lot, but not as much as a new one.
This was my first thought. I bet it is used. I couldn't see him dropping 100k+ bones on a new car on his salary. I could see 60-70 though.

Well that would make more sense. More than I would have thought but at least it shows he can afford it.

How many US championships has he won?
From that pic it is a new car. Good on him, enjoy life. When I started making big money one of the first things I did was buy a Porsche 911. 25 years later I still own it. No regrets.
He should trade it in for a 13' GT500.
I bet Ben True drives a Jeep.
He does not make $250k base , $135-150k tops , shoe bonus money pays for the bling. Matt Jr. is young , doesn't know yet he doesn't need ( or can afford) $100k cars. Add very expensive insurance to that as well.

Did anyone else notice the dealer tag where the back license plate would be reads NoP???
What a coincidence. Nissan of Portland = Nike Oregon Project
Lauren has a georgeous ass and great legs, and, also, btw, a Stanford Education. She bought it for him.

Are you this big of a loser in person too?

Are you mentally retarded? A GTR will hold its value very well, for years to come.
His base has to be AT LEAST $150k. I know other Nike & Asics mid D runners who have a base around that and they are not nearly as good as Centro...
Besides, I bet Nike pays for all his living expenses. He just pockets all the money after taxes. Pretty easy to afford a GTR.
