It would be a nice surprise if JS and/or SR break 8:30. So far this year it seems that SR has been edged out by Molly Huddle and JS. It was a surprise to see SR run through the finish line recently when she nearly won against JS because SR still tends to slow down before the finish line instead of charging through it as if it is 10 meters down the track.
Maybe JS 8:30.69 and SR 8:30.50.
Maybe SR's physical tactics pay off (like blocking and using her hands).
Ever since 2009 these girls have not seemed to try to get Mary's easier record of 5:32.7 in the 2000 m.
This year they could have even gotten Mary's Mile record.
