What is this nginx thing that keeps popping up?
I can't access message board at all.

Nginx is web server software. They probably just had a configuration error for a bit.

No, I kept getting a nginx pop-up till 5 mins ago. It said it was installed on my phone and wouldn't let me access this site. It's a browser redirector. I done a hard reset on my phone and I can now access this site.
Nginx can also be a form of malware.

were they servers, or desktops? A desktop user has to be pretty dumb for this to happen.
Servers, but it should suffice to say that most desktop users are pretty dumb, otherwise social engineering wouldn't be a thing

I'm getting this white nginx screen too. What do I do?
Nginx is server software.
It should be fixed now.
Let me know. We moved server IPs and looks like the DNS didn't push for everyone. I proxied over all requests this morning.
My fault on this one.

Nginx is just server software used to serve pages (akin to Apache, but faster).
The malware warning was related to WordPress and as Weldon noted, it has been fixed.
Using popular, open source software makes it difficult to protect against every possible attack, but we've corrected the cause of the malware warning, and taken site- and staff-wide steps to shore up the servers to avoid potential issues like this.
Thanks for your patience. More improvements to the site and the forum are on the horizon.

Adblock plus on Chrome says it blocked 17 ads on this one page...how is that even possible? The worst porn sites aren't that bad.

Yeah, but correct me if i am wrong. Nginx fuels WordPress. The welcome to nginx message signifies an infected server on the site from a Trojan attack. Hackers can use nginx as a browser hijacker.

That is the most depressing video I have ever seen in my life. Terrible. Terrible.

Default nginx message came up because I launched a faster virtual server for the forum, migrated it there, and didn't proxy over people who had the old server IP cached on their machine. I realized the error when Employee 1.1 told me he saw the default message. Fixing the config fixed the issue.
Nothing nefarious.

Ummm...letsrun is the most nefarious place on the internet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xcb4_QwP6fEOld thread, but I am now getting weird results often when I click to the next page on Letsrun. Kind of a redirect/hijacker. Doesn't seem to happen on any other webpage, so it is not a real hijacker. Is this happening to anybody else? Has happened on my mobile as well as on my computer.
Yep
Only on mobile here
I've been having issues too.
I fed a new stack of punch cards into the usb port and everything seems to be running smoothly again. Luckily I can now watch the endless World Relay videos again.
