Thank you for continually providing us LRC visitors with delightful entertainment on the message boards. Your comments are considerably amusing, especially when taking into account your endless jealousy towards Galen Rupp.
"The facts are Solinsky was better than Rupp in terms of absolute accomplishments (PRs) and PRs at a given age when he got hurt."
Even if people agree with you that Solinsky may've been a few seconds faster when they were youngins, does it really matter now? I repeat, does it really matter NOW?
WHO has enjoyed a more successful PROFESSIONAL career?
WHO has more American Records?
WHO has an Olympic Silver Medal?
WHO has WON the US Olympic trials?
WHO has qualified for more Olympic teams?
WHO has more US Titles?
WHO has beaten the GOAT, Kenenisia Bekele?
You wish the answer was Solinsky.
I've been to other countries and when I run with the locals, WHO do you think they get excited telling me about, asking me if I know him?
Again, you wish the answer was Solinsky.
It is saddening to read your slanted articles over and over again, as your jealously towards Rupp is inherent in every WTW, or when you ask him to comment on innovation vs cheating in a post-race interview, instead of congratulating him and actually feeling happy for him (god forbid right?) For the last few years you have criticized Rupp claiming he's had unfair advantages and this and that...and blah blah blah.
If more value is placed on college competition over high school competition it is because college is more intense and the athletes are older and the times are faster; following that line of thinking, that means that a professional career is more important than a college career. Another reason professional running is more important than college is that people are getting paid for it, so if you don't continually run really really fast, you don't get paid. Solinsky himself said "Nike wouldn't pay [him] to be running at a mediocre level" (Feb 27th 2014 -

). Your "fact" that Solinsky had a few slightly faster times at the age of 22 may be true, but it is a clinging-for-dear-life fact.
Now, here is a your same fact, re-worded a little more maturely: "The facts are Rupp is better than Solinsky in terms of absolute accomplishments (PRs), US Titles, and Olympic Medals."
