That's when I was a freshman. Now I'm an upcoming senior, 18:23. Not impressive by LR's standards but still decent

I visited the University of Minnesota over my spring break in high school. Official visit took place Fri-Sat-Sun over the weekend but I was in town most of the week and staying with friends to see what the university was all about.
I was going to go out 30 minutes and run back on one of the weeknights. Instead I got lost and ended up running 2 hours and 52 minutes. In all honesty, I was north of 22 miles on that run and due to the panic I hit an absolute mental wall.
Finally I arrived back at Territorial Hall. I did a classic beer power hour after showering. I grabbed boobs and passed out. Great experience.
My girlfriend said that she felt that that night was going to be the night. I mean THE night. So, I didn't have a car, and we did not have a track or xc program, and I ran 3 or 4 miles to her house. I mean I RAN to her house. And, it was the night!

I much preferred 9 miles at 6/ mile but drained myself a few times trying to do 12-13 at slower pace

Wetmore had his guys do 20 on a very tough course.
I didn't know Wetmore ever coached HS?
We always did modified long runs like 45 min-45-35 with a 5 min water break in between. My guess is we ran 16-17 miles on those days. We had other days where we ran 18-20 in a single workout split between warmup, segments, strides and cool down. Big mileage program. I had no talent so it helped me.
