That's a typical cherry-picking argument you find on this website to say that he's won one World Series in the last 14 years when he's won five. How many did Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz win for Atlanta.

It was in response to a discussion about his LEADERSHIP. He wasn't a captain or a leader in the clubhouse when they won his first 4 rings. So to point to 5 rings as to him somehow being the 11th best leader in the world is more disingenuous than "cherry-picking" my argument.
I wouldn't say Maddux, Glavine, or Smoltz are some of the greatest leaders of their generation, either.
No team wins World Series in bunches anymore

No one did that.
Come on man, read the post by Charlie Francis and the response by coach.

This us the only post from coach I found...

Nonsense? his teams won, he inspired his teammates and even opponents. I'm sure some of you ran or played sports for an inspirational coach or captain. Perhaps his work ethic, attention to detail, the way he conducted himself off the field meant something to some people. Give the man his due 20 years playing a hard position in a tough town to be an athlete obviously means something to sportswriters, former players and today's budding superstars.
RE2PECT
I see no evidence of what you claimed.
The Captain is done. Fenway fans showed a lot of class giving him a huge ovation as he left the field after an RBI single. The end of an era.
Good riddance.
