If he breaks 30 it would be a great start. He's been away for almost 7 years and Peachtree is HOT. Just the fact that he's putting it on the line again is great. It will light up these boards again.
Agreed. This race is slow the way Bolder Boulder is slow, though not quite as much. He should shoot for sub-30 and maybe negative split to something satisfactory. I'll put him at 29:27 if he doesn't go out too fast.
29:25ish
I hope.
Isn't he a master's runner by now? Training blogs are nothing but fabricated tales fueled by dashed dreams of greatness. That said: 31:40
29:52
29:35 appx. 14th place. Good start. Something to build on.
Anyone have some prelim results?
excellent start for a guy with serious problems for years. definitely something to build on for next year. He can get sub 29 in cool conditions later in the year if he can run sub 30 at Peachtree in July in Atlanta.
I hope McDougal saved something for the Utica Boilermaker.
Which US runners are making the trip for that 15k?

Josh McDougal on the comeback, ahead of Ryan Hall?
whoopee ! a b level race at its best !!!
29:41 for 14th. Not bad.
I knew a 29 flat guy who didn't run for 7 years then started again. His first race back was 45 minutes, the second was 38 for a 10k.
Given that McDougal's doing 120 mile weeks and has run a 4:10 mile recently, low 29s is possible, but anything close to 30 minutes will be excellent.

A little late to the party. Regardless, I agree; I'd imagine he's pretty happy to be mixing it up with these guys again.

Yep, Peachtree can be up to 30-45 seconds slower than an equivalent track race in cool conditions, maybe even slower. McDougal has to be happy w/the result.

Does he have his training log posted online somewhere? Sub 30 is a great time for where he is at. If he stays consistent, can he possibly make the Rio team?

So THAT'S where my prediction of 29:58 went to. I was only a few seconds off.
Would it be REASONABLE to ask T Soprano to do a search before starting another thread EXACTLY the same as one already on here?
McDougal must be thrilled to be within 3 minutes of Rupps's PB.

Don't think he will win, but I say top 5. He has a lot to run for right now.
