Is 10x200 at 30sec supposed to be something to be excited about? I can pull in 5-10 athlete with that "speed"/"endurance" any day of the week.
Really, and they're all 15 years old? He wasn't asked to run full out in those tests, who knows what his limits were back then. Fact is, Rupp's 100m time is faster than Mos, whereas Hasay's finish is no where near the best runners in the world.
Hasay has been running/racing hard since at least 9th grade and has great endurance, but little pop. Training only goes so far, genetics plays a big part and she just doesn't seem to have that natural gear shifting ability to really blast out of a pack (like double cancer survivor Grunewald blowing her and the entire field away at indoors). She spent the bulk of her college days specializing in 1500m where speed is much more important than then 10, but she still had to move up in distance due to lack of speed. I'm looking forward to seeing her try the marathon, but Salazar's slow steady approach will probably postpone that till she's 28-30, if she stays that long with him.
