Someone should check the CSI ( Caribbean Scholastic Inv run by NSAF) over the last ten(10) years... NSAF takes 16 boys and 16 girls for an event in Puerto Rico..... In ten years, NSAF kids ( HS kids, no seniors ) who have never met before have run 35-40 4 x 100's ( A and B teams) and have never dropped the stick and have never been DQ'd.....these kids practice hand offs for 30-45 min the day before the event and no more! One of the two coaches was the departed Cedric Walker, a master relay technician......the other was me.....
It ain't rocket science...the boys consistently run 40 pt while the girls run 45pt...they have never met before and most were all anchor legs their entire HS careers and had never passed a baton.....trust in each other is the key.
