1) Basics- shoe and basic demo data.
Age, sex, height, weight, shoe size, width, years you've run and the current shoe you are training in and satisfaction on a 1-10 scale.
Age: 29
Sex: Female
Height: 5' 3"
Weight: 98 pounds
Shoe Size: 6.5W/5M
Shoe Width: Narrow
Years running: 16
Current shoe training in: INOV-8 Bare X-Lite and INOV-8 F-lite 195
Satisfaction 1-10: 9 for both (both feel just a tiny bit too wide in the forefoot, and the upper could be... less).
2) More detailed running data
Avg mileage you run: 60 Miles per week.
Primary surface you run on: Mix of dirt trails, alleyways, grass, roads, gravel, etc.
Do you use orthotics?: No
What's you primary event you are training for?: 5k and 10k
Avg pace you run: On normal runs, I go about 7:00 pace give or take a little depending on how fatigued I feel. Workout paces range from 5:10 (400s) to 5:50 (Tempo pace).
(Should we ask something about goal pace or various paces you run?)
3) More detailed foot data
Arch type: High
Footstrike type (forefoot, midfoot, etc): Forefoot
Level of pronation or is this captured with arch type?: Neutral
4) Do you rotate shoes? Yes.
5) Injury data
When was your last injury and what type was it?: Two years ago, I fell and bashed up my knee which led to a persistent case of prepatellar bursitis, but that wasn't technically an overuse injury. My last overuse injury was achilles tendonitis 4 years ago, which is really surprising! I used to be hurt all the time!
Any more detailed injury history questions we can ask here? You could ask about most frequent past injury (in my case, shin splints and tibia fractures) or whether injury frequency has changed significantly with a change in shoe type.
6) What was your previous shoe you ran in? I was running in the New Balance 730s and the New Balance WRC1600.
Rate it on a scale of 1-10 to see if you liked it better than their current shoe. 730s would be a 7 (toe box was too wide, but I liked the rest of the shoe) and the WRC1600s would be an 8 or a 9 depending on which pair (one of them fit better than the other for some reason).
7) Do we need to ask about racing shoes? I'd love to hear about racing shoes!
