I'm glad to see Herb Elliot get some mentions. He was bad ass, and never lost a mile/1500 unless I'm mistaken (I could be?)
He destroyed the mile record in 1958, smoking the reigning Olympic champ.
He broke his own world 1500 record in the Olympic final, nice work Herb.
El G, he was so exciting and beautiful to watch. When he ran 53 for the 3rd lap of the 2005 1500 final, it was soooo smooth. He's the man, but let's admit we will always wonder -- uh -- how he did it.
Kiprop, OK so a bit inconsistent, but unbeatable when he's on. Literally. His 2013 season had two amazing races. WC with a smashing last 100, and of course his breakthrough race in Monaco. I give him top 5.
