http://thestepsfoundation.org/1:14 indicates she can run under 2:40. That would make her an also-ran?
Have you run faster thana 1.14 half or sub 2.40 marathon yourself?

See? There was a good answer. Thank you.

1:14 does not represent her current top-end ability. It was an easy win, do you really think someone with her speed and mileage base can only pull off a 1:14?
Right. This was a decidedly non-competitive hobby jogger half that caters to and attracts 99% winos and tourists, along with a few pretty good regional runners. It was essentially a "hometown" race for her and the course is on rolling hills. She ran a 1:14 but she's most certainly not a 1:14 half marathoner. Put her in a real race with real competitors and she knocks off 2-3 minutes easy.
It was very windy in Sonoma County on Saturday. I wasn't at the race but I went for a run just 30 miles south of there and there was a strong wind coming in from the ocean. That surely would have affected the times especially for someone running by herself.
Ill give her her a tip , do not follow your husbands coaching advice !
The US doesn't compete in the Commonwealth Games.
The Commonwealth Games is not a major. 2014 is a bye year with no major international track and field competitions.
The Halls biggest mistake was to use their running as a platform for their religious beliefs. It totally back fired! Unless you are the Pope or the Dalai Lama you should not mix your political or religious beliefs with your profession.

Chambers of Commerce, governments, and corporations mix their white racist belief systems and business together regularly. Many automatically redline development dollars in your town and mine from areas populated by Afro-American and Hispanic White people.
They are politicians doing what your town voted them to do. If you want change then vote for change.

False.

It's dumb for business to waste an entire year with no major. The IAAF should have a World Championships this year instead of sluffing off.
Sarah is never ready when it counts. She has been clueless as a pro. She will run a good steeple and then not be able to duplicate it at Nationals. She will run a great 1500 or Mile indoors but be useless by the time Indoor WC roll around. No one sees her as a threat for any distance at Nationals.
Her form seems bad for a marathon. Not too relaxed. Almost overstriding. Leaning forward. That's how I recall it anyway.

I root a little against her at Natl's or OT's for 2 reasons. Not saying great reasons, but still.
1) If she finished top 3 to make a team, she'd prob put her hands on her face & say, "OMG!!! OMG!!!" a dozen times (see Suzie F. Hamilton years ago).
2) She took a small shot at Ryan's fans a few years ago. She said ppl cheer him, but have no idea how hard he works. Yea- this against those cheering him.
Like I said, not the greatest reasons. I don't dislike her. Just is what it is.

Well, if there's one thing we've learned from Alberto Salazar and his protégé Ritz, good form is the key to the marathon...
I hope so. At least there will be 1 Hall completing a marathon.
Thanks to LR TV for validating my hunch.
She was to have done the Dallas race that got iced out. I'll be watching her Houston performance to see if the competition lowers her 1:14 game.
