For those of us in Northern climates, winter traction devices like Yak-Traks that can keep the ice and wet snow from accumulating between the traction device and the shoe. I hate having to stop every few miles or so to dig the snow/ice/mud out from the underside of the shoe, and I don't like having the Yak-Trak on too tight because it cuts off the circulation.

Here's a suggestion I received years ago, and it works perfectly. Go to a hardware store and buy the smallest phillips head screws they have. Take an old pair of running shoes and screw the screws into the soles, in the same locations you would put spikes in. It does wonders in terms of traction on slippery patches and is cheap. It works particularly well for me because I run in Pegasus and the soles on Pegasus work well with this strategy. Sometimes it's the most basic things that solve issues.

Hi everyone - I apologize for the broad based question in the title.
What type of product does the running world need but does not currently exist? Or does exist, but needs to be made better.
Just looking to start some conversation. Is there something you think "boy, i wish i had something to......"
I appreciate your time and any answers you might have.
Thanks!
You've spread this same 'poll' on the other running boards today as well. I guess it's easier than doing your own thinking.

Thanks for your positive outlook...
Research is what I'd call it. I'm just interested in what people think. I can think about a lot of things, but any product I've ever seen out in the world has some research behind it and tries to meet the needs of what is missing in the particular area of interest.
I do appreciate all the answers....even the funny ones. Makes me laugh.

Do many of you use those "Gu" type things when running? I don't. But they seem to be everywhere. Where do you put 'em if running long distance?
