Agreed.
Healthy, making progress, having a good race now and then => motivated. Not the other way around.

When is his next race?

Currently targeting a 5000 in 2018.
Lol.
Really, how do some people supposedly have so many injury problems just putting one foot in front of the other?
It's running, not rugby or hockey or football.
Here is yet another problem w/T&F. Why is it when this guys go off the radar no publication or website calls them for an interview. Case in point Jorge Torres, went off the radar, injured, retired, whatever, but its all speculation b/c know one called the guy for an interview. Add to it that most of these elites are not offering up interviews, hide the training log and dont share anything.
On the flip side we have FT getting inside interviews, but they chg a fee.

You apparently have no intelligence, no experience, or both. For MANY people feet, ankles, achilles, knees simply don't hold up to the mileage.

Nike ought to organize a media outlet for Schumacher's group. It's like they go in hiding for years until a good race comes out.
You mean something like Twitter?
I follow several of Schumacher's runners on Twitter and some tweet quite a bit.

**no one
However, grammar is your second mistake. I don't fault a journalist for not contacting someone who "fell off the map". It's the 21 century. It's up to German to market himself - since he does have the performances to back it up. Blogs. Websites. Volunteer at races. We see other elites doing it (check out the front page of letsrun). Not to say that everyone can market themselves as well as Nick Symmonds, but with the health of T&F, it seems like it's on the athlete to create/keep the buzz going.
Seems like Salazar would have been a better fit for GF. He would keep his mileage down and suplement his trianing with the alter-g and underwater treadmill. Would not be surprised if Nike asked him to switch groups soon.
He maybe doing these things already, he does have access to the Nike facilities.
These guys aren't hiding anywhere. You can friend them on Facebook and ask them. They are as open as they are allowed to be. Schumacher's group is a lot more approachable via social media than Salazar's group.
Before we give up on Fernandez - remember Teg was battling injuries before he broke through in his mid 20s.

As did Jager. It seems to have worked out.
I have plenty of both. And either good genes or a lot of luck apparently.
He was a good junior which counts for nothing

Basing anything off of a sample size of one does not strike me as "plenty" intelligent.
I have managed to stay in touch with German a bit and after months of being extremely cautious and devoting all time and energy on completely rehabbing and strengthening his Achilles complex he is finally cleared by the numerous doctors he has working on him to begin training. If you knew German you would not question his ability to come back. His ability to get in shape after long layoffs is completely super human. Schumacher recognizes this and is being ultra cautious with him now, wait till the summer circuit and he will pop some big times.

Don't know if you are BSing or not. I would love to see GF have a great career. But being able "to get in shape after long layoffs", while pretty cool, doesn't really do much for his career prospects. Even a guy as talented as GF is going to need several years of (almost always) healthy running to do anything worthy of his talent level.

It counts for a US junior XC title, junior WR and an NCAA 1500m title. I would take those accolades.
Being a guy who went 3 years without a pr due to weird and random injuries myself, I would say that we should give German the benefit of the doubt here. Knowing him, he is the kind of guy who works hard and does everything in his power to stay healthy. His best races are still ahead of him.
