Nick S edges out Bernie
Isn't the race sunday?
Where can I watch the race? Flotrack? Runnerspace? Other?
The 5th ave mile is always a bit of a crapshoot and road miles really seem to favor a 15/5k guy vs. an 800/1500 type so I would put the odds really low with Symmonds. People that have been killing it all year seem to get beat a lot at 5th ave. Thats off of memory though, if I cared to research I'd probably be wrong.
I really like the Will Lear pick - he is like a less Christian, more male version of Sara Hall (who's had a great string of 5th ave miles). Really I could make a case for half the list though. This probably isn't very helpful.
Lagat had a huge kick when he ran 12:58 earlier this month. Almost outkicked Alamirew.
Lagat FTW, Willis close second.
-Lagat is always contending for the win at Fifth Ave.
-Symmonds is unproven in the 1500/mile. He's never run well here before.
-Willis is not in the same form as 2008. Don't think he'll have the extra gear to win.
-Torrence runs great times, can't close last 100m.
-Manzano & Lomong have had rocky seasons.
-Garrett Heath is fit but hasn't proven himself to come through in the clutch.
-Jager is not a miler specialist. He's fit as hell but won't have the extra gears to win.
Nick Willis all day!! Hope we see sub 3:50

He won the BUPA Street Mile last week.
Clutch Please! the 5thAveMile is not any more a "CLUTCH" race than BUPA was.

When is the race today and how do we watch it?
Leo has had a bad season but looked great doing a track workout this past Tuesady. He'll try to seek redemption today.

How come no one can answer this question?!?!?!
CAN WE WATCH THIS RACE ANYWHERE ONLINE?!?!?!?
Pro races at 12:45 and 1, but I guess will not be streamed. Really disappointing Mary, if you're going to hype it, at least give fans somewhere to watch it.

Can anyone confirm this? Is there really no streaming video of the race?
What a letdown, I would have gladly paid to watch.
So no luck with the live stream? Anyone?
no, the stream has that old 2012 pre-marathon garbage. It can't be that hard for NYRR to stream a feed here. Disappointing.
Fu## this, going to watch Football, guess no live-stream.
I wouldn't be surprised if NYRR follows suit and begins to drop paying the elites altogether. From the race organizer's point of view, paying the pro's is a loss leader that doesn't appear to pay for itself.
