thankfully i think the rest of that list is pretty clean, or at least i hope it is.
We may like to believe it, but how would we know?
Paula Radcliffe complained loudly about others using EPO, but apparently had no problems being injected with Actovegin. It might not be on the banned substances list, but I think this is very much the spirit of doping: taking risks with your health to improve performance, and forcing the others to do the same or lose.

Where do you stop? Tommy John surgery carries health risks. LASIK carries health risks. You could suffer a vertebral artery dissection from a neck adjustment.
As a guideline: when you get ill, you get treatment and the associated risks; when you pushed your body too much in training, you rest.
Actovegin was probably not tested the normal way (full clinical trials), and according to Wikipedia, it is still banned in the US and Canada. I would be worried if my doctor told me to have some.
GW501516 seems to have been used by athletes before proper clinical trials were made. It turned out it caused cancer in rats. Maybe Actovegin is a little more tested and can be considered safer. I really hope so for all Hans the Healer's `patients'.
