Boy, Vigil really knows his athlete. He said beforehand she was probably capable of something in the high 1:57s.
The Vigil Effect; congrats to Brenda and Coach!

Anyone paying attention could see high 1:57 was her approximate capability this season. Her biggest improvement over last year is perhaps her racing tactics. Vigil told her to go out in 58 flat regardless of what the others did, so I suppose he deserves credit for that as well. It was obvious last year that Brenda needed a strong coach, and she got one.

Is there a video of the 800m final? Thanks.

And a salute to Derek Thompson, Wilson's coach. Both of them had their athletes PR in the third round.

Proud of her, ran smart to run her best potential.
Ajee Wilson as well.
Montano, totally embarrassing. Hopefully so much that she and her coach finally learn this lesson and end the hubris of her thinking what works in the USA will work in these kind of races.
Are you serious A Duck? You're a blithering idiot. Seriously, you should be banned from these boards. Congrats to both Alysia and Brenda, great showing for the US.

So you're saying all the runners in Daegu were doping and the runners today are clean? Really?! Other than the top two at Daegu the times are close to what was run today except in Korea martinez time would have been good for 6th. Hence, watered-down.
Also, Martinez is smoking hot!
