Why were Bumbi and Hill not in the fast heat? What a waste. They could have set PRs but instead battled it out for 3:39s

Why didn't they just run faster then?
Jeez who pays for Alan Webb to go to Europe and run 1500s in 3:46?! Nike? He could probably do that easily in practice.
4 A standards is pretty sweet given it is the b team. Jordan McNamara has to be pumped about the big PR.
Has the fast heat gone off yet?

Agreed with the above poster who said it was a bummer to see Hill and Bumbalough in heat 2. Nice runs for them, though (especially Hill with the nearly half-second win). Not knowing anything about splits in this race, I think Hill may be claiming his spot on the WC team pretty soon. Does anyone know when he's racing next?

Based on the pack of Americans (and American-based guys) just off the podium, I wonder if these guys were kind of a bit intimidated and let the unknown East African guys go. If so, that's a bit of a bummer. That being said, four Americans under 3:35 in one race (and seven under 3:36) is absolutely amazing. Looking forward to seeing what the big guns can run in Paris a bit later today, too.
Bumbalough is running the 5000 in Heusden next week, and I would assume Hill is too. Good race to get the A or B Standard.
hill is as well - 5k next week
