I believe you are mistaken. Abbey was fresh too. Alphine and Betsy were in the 10k.

Hasay has no kick. What a stupid race tactic belting out a 68sec 2n last lap, and dying in a 74. saina put 6ses into Hasay over the final 400m having just raced the 10000m.
So what was Saina meant to do, be like "oh no I'd better not take 2nd I'll just hang back and get 3rd?"
Sounds like she knows how to race better.
I predicted Abbey / Saina / Tuliamuk-Bolton and I almost changed Tuliamuk-Bolton for Hasay at the last moment and I wish I had, annoying.
Dude, she kicked like crazy at the bell. Problem was she had given everything to hang with Abby to that point, so her kick lasted for 8 meters.
It was a gutsy run against an unbeatable foe. Leave it at that.

Actually, it looked rather sad. I felt sorry for Hasay. The announcers kept saying that in response to Abbey's kick, "Hasay has no answer at all." She did the best she could, but it definitely did not look gutsy, especially when she faded to third.
For Abbey a rerun of her NCAA Indoor victories. She ratcheted up the speed in the last 600, and just squeezed the life out of Hasay. The times were a little slow: 15:43 for Abbey, 15:50 for Hasay and Saina. I don't think Abbey was "spent" at all and could have run that last 600 off of an overall faster race.
Jordan taking the lead with 400 to go was a really poor tactical decision. If she just trys to sit on D'agostino she probably gets 2nd instead of 3rd.
Even if I didn't have speed goggles Abbey is freakin hot. And in her post race interviews she's humble yet confident. Class act and the 'whole package'. Well done.

Thanks for the link!
AD'Ag has run, what, a half-minute faster than that? She's simply a superior runner to the other two, and if she ran to her potential she was going to win, regardless of how the race specifically played out.
Anyway, what does Hasay run at Nationals? Strictly the 10,000?
I knew I should have changed that damn pick. I would've had 3 more points. ARGH.
