If you can't be proud of your PR's based on how they stack up against what others have done with more/less talent, then you've missed what our sport is all about - the struggle, the seconds, the sweat.

Sorry, I'm not going to be proud of something I'm terrible at, no matter how hard I've worked at it.
For discussion, here are my PRs:
5k: 15:41
10: 32:50
Marathon: 2:40:57.
That sucks. It's horrible. I tried my best at running for many, many years and I just wasn't any good at it. That is NOTHING to be pround of. In fact, I'm embarrassed to even post those times. Nothing says, "my life is a failure" more than those pathetic PRs.
I'm ashamed of my running results and you CANNOT make me otherwise.
More or less, extended my career well beyond college did the best I could do given that I was working, moving on with life.
Meanwhile, watch out about posting your PRs here. Those threads--unless it's the official Statman crothers 2007 thread tend to get deleleted by the mods here. Asshats.

LOL...self loathing much?
When I'm around regular people, I'm prou d of them, but when around runners, no.
400- 49.4
800- 2:00.54
1600- 4:50.69
They're decent for high school .. but anything past that, nowhere near.
I'm working on getting my 400 down to 48.X, 47.X if I'm lucky .
100 yd. - 11.8 needed some more speed.
220 yd. - 26? much the same.
400 m - 56 hard race.
800 m - 2:05 or :06 felt I could have done 2:03.
1500 m - 4:18 off high mileage & no track training, then.
one mile - 4:42 high school PR.
3000 m - 9:05 felt like an easy run could have been under 9 that day.
5000 m - 15:45 a harrrrd run attacked this with a 4:50 first mile & was hanging on to 3rd. pl. as long as I could (9:50 for two miles).
5 miles (8 km) - 26:15 felt easy could have been faster.
9.5 km (a road race arould a seawall & road - 30:34. Just blitsed that run, don't think I could have been any faster.
10000 m - 32:44 A pleasant run on the track with a light drizzle, another on eI felt I could have improved on.
8 miles - 42:32? a road race, could not have done that any quicker.
15 km - 51:51 Cascade Runoff, long uphill & downhil
10 miles - 54:16 another hard run hot day sprint finish could not have improved on that, si I felt that day.
One Hr. Run - 11 miles, 39 yd. (or 17.738 km) a very hard effort, wondered if I could make it 45 laps of the track the foll. year. I was pleased with that effort.
1/2 marathon - 1:14:45 good run a few mos. foll. some knee surgery. (a few yr. before had race over what was said to be a 13.5 +/- mile run...73:38?)
20 miles - 1:54:01 well could have sprinted a little harder would have been under 1:54.
marathon - 2:37:47 well even though this was a good run for me this I thought pailed in comparison with other PR's.
Never was a big mileage runner (60 - 70 mpw tops).
These were all done 30 or more years ago, happy to get out to run for fitness & enjoyment....though....feelings of angst & some motivation after seeing, despite the awful senseless tragedy yesterday over in Boston, this 78 yr. old gentleman get up to finish after being blown over by the first bomb. He's 13 yr. older than I am now and has done 40 marathons?
Some great times there, T-Rex!
T Rex, I liked reading your post. Cool to get details.
I can't quite bring myself to post my fave PR, my indoor 1000 yard run time. I'll obliquely give you the idea though.
At the '77 NEAAU indoor championships, Billy Squires was making up heats for the mile. He asked me what my best time that season was, I said I hadnn't run the mile indoors that year.
Billy is like, "THEN WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?"
I told him my 1000 yard time, and he replied, OK, that's worth 1:55, you're the leader of the slow heat. Won the heat easily, and wished I'd asked to run the fast heat.
Thanks Billy!
I'm not proud mostly because I know I should have and still can go faster (I'm 33 but all of these from are early and mid-twenties). Also, some of my best performances are actually from workouts - another thing not to be proud of. I guess I'll include some of those, too:
RACES:
Mile: 4:30
3000: 8:55
5k: 15:19 (still want to go sub-15)
8k xc: 25:56 (sub-25 on the roads would rock)
10k: 32:33 (goal of sub-32)
1/2 M: 1:11:30 (goal of sub-1:10)
Marathon: 2:40:04 (goal of OTQ - that's right, still dreaming big)
WORKOUTS:
6 x 1mi - averaged 4:46
6 x 1000m - averaged 2:53
10 x 400m - averaged 59s
I'm on a mission to get some speed back this year and try to start hitting some of those PR goals.
Your workouts don't match your PRs.
To answer the OP- kind of. Not completely satisfied.

I would say your 1/2 M is your best by quite a bit. on the charts its about equal to your 5k/10k but it takes more work to run the longer events as well.
Only PR I am relatively proud of at this point is a 15:46.9 5k on the track, midseason this year. I will be aiming for 14:59 next year, and I shouldn't have any problems getting at least close to that.
I'm proud but not satisfied. And since I'm still improving (even at age 32) I don't see myself going out gracefully. I'll keep wondering if I could have been faster. I figure it'll take a major injury or several frustrating seasons of no improvement before I consider myself over the hill.
Then maybe I'll think about running for fun or picking up another hobby.
i'm not so much proud of the specific times as i am of the concentrated effort, hard-work, and willpower it took to pull them off. i am confident that on the days i set most of my present PR's, i left nothing out there on the course/road/track.
to me, it is silly to ever be proud or dissapointed in what specific time you achieved. you are born with certain genes and limits, no matter how distant those limits are. would you REALLY be more proud of yourself for running a 7:55 3k, if you were born with the ability to run 7:30? i would way, way, way rather be an 8:25 guy who reached his potential. you may not agree with me now, but on your deathbed, when you realize how silly pride is, you will see the light.
56, 2:04, 4:26, 9:47 steeplechase from high school. I was fairly proud of those in high school, but now that I'm out of college and haven't improved them it's embarrassing. To be fair I was a 5k/10k guy so I've only ran each distance 1-3 times since high school and I wasn't fresh for the 400/800 attempts.
Ran 15:10 and 31:52 as a freshman in college, but a bunch of injuries and I only graduated with 15:03 and 31:02. Not proud of that at all.
The only PR I'm not embarrassed to tell people or feel the need to throw in a disclaimer is my half-marathon: 67:53. I finally stayed healthy for a while and I feel like that's more in line with what my other PR's should have been.
I'm 25-years-old so I'd still like to drop all my PR's although my "speed" days (not that I was ever speedy) are probably behind me so that 56 400 is probably out of reach and a faster 800 would be tough. Senior year of college, I did run 2:05 low an hour or two after a 5k on a slow indoor track though so I have hope I could get close to 2 flat if fresh and doing some mid-d type workouts. However, will I ever sacrifice half/full marathon training to do workouts to improve on my 800? Probably not.
I'd be happy with mine if it weren't for time barriers that I was nearing.
I'm content with my 800pr: 1:54.8 I wasn't really close to a significant barrier.
I wish I had broken 4:10 in the mile, but got stuck at 4:14.7 as a junior in college. Should have taken a red-shirt year and tried again as a 5th year.
I'm thrilled to have broken 15 in the 5k as a 32 year old with 14:54 in a college track meet as the weird old guy. Never raced one in college.
Wanted to break 25 for 8k, but got stuck at 25:14 and rarely raced it.
And, the one that I can't quite get right- the marathon. I desparately want a sub 2:30, but I've run 2:32:xx 3 times.... a couple times with walking breaks.
So, generally speaking, as my little career winds down, I'm content. I did just about the best I could possibly do and I trained like an animal, and still do.
not at all proud, but stil running and racing. Its taken me over 100 mpw to hit these. I'm only in my mid 20s though, so I figure I have a decade or more to bring them down.
mile - 4:46, haven't raced one since, it was the longest event other than steeple at some meet
3k - 9:24
5k - 15:55
5k road - 16:47
5k xc - 16:39
10k - 33:10 - ran this in college and haven't broken it yet
8k xc - 26:45 -
10k road - 33:53
half marathon - 1:14:35
30k - 1:48:30 - my best time?
on the plus side I've taken almost 9 minutes off my 5k since I started running a little under a decade ago
Many of us are proud of some and not so for othere! Im proud AND ashamed lol,
I think everybody should post their PR's makes it interesting!

As a 14 year old high schooler, I ran a 4:42 1600 with little training, so I'm pretty proud of that.
Recently, as a 16 year old, I set my school record in the 3200 in 9:57 in a perfectly paced race with a 1:10 last lap. I outkicked the 2nd place guy for a .15 second time difference. I'm very proud of this.
My mile and 5k PRs are not that good, 4:38 and 16:56 respectively, but I hope to improve them greatly.
Overall, my times aren't that fast, but they win me races and respect from my peers, so I am very proud.
I am somewhat content with my PRs.
All track PRs were run as a senior in high school (I am now in my late 20s). I was always competitve on the county and conference level, never quite made it to the big leagues regionally in any consistent way. Had my taste of 1st place finishes on occasion (indoor conference 1600, a few competitve 4x1600 and SMRs), but was mainly a top 3 or 5 guy in most competitve races.
400--> 56flat indoors (ran it during practice, wanted to run faster, never got the chance)
800--> 2:02 (wanted to break 2, never get myself the chance, but was in shape for it)
1000 --> 2:42 indoors (poor racing, certainly was in shape for well under 2:40)
1200 --> 3:16 indoors (time trial in practice)
1600--> 4:27 indoors (ran w/o spikes due to that specific track's regulations)(workouts outdoors indicated I was much faster outdoors, but injury and my stubborness got in the way)
3000 --> 9:21 indoors (was my only one, coach told me just to tempo it for 3rd place and let the first two guys duke it out so I could just get the work in...easily felt I could've gone faster, at least under 9:10 or better if pushed)
3200 --> never raced a competitive one, only tempoed one's in dual meets for points, never time
5k --> 16:36 (only time breaking 17, under-achieved in XC)
Roads --> ran 1:39 Half Marathon 3+ years ago and 66minute 10 miler 2 years ago
I am currently an assistant coach for a high school track/XC team who runs with the kids (all levels/genders) pretty consistently; which group I run with and for how long depends on the day and who needs the help. I battle injuries mainly due to me not stretching properly any more. I feel I can be content if I can get under 5:00 again for the 1600, under 18 for the 5k (road and/or track, either would be fine), and break 1:30 for the half marathon. Shooting for those goals over the next year or so before my wife and I start a family. With the running I do with the kids at practice, the training opportunity is there, so we shall see
