So isnt the point of OTC to develop American talent so we can start winning medals? This seems to be going well with a brit who already got in the way of Galen winning gold and now Cam??
Maybe OTC is thinking long term. If they can keep big talents like Levins in America, then his kids will grow up American. This will slowly suck all of the good running genetics out of countries with less developed training environments.

yeah, this will be hilarious. The way dolts on here indiscriminately pick up on some runner as their "hero" and jeer others. It's amazing.
Sort of, yeah. On the other hand, is it really any different with fans of any other sport?
Now that he can get doped up real nice, Galen can look forward to bronze!
Both Galen and Salazar have said that Galen wouldn't have won a silver without Mo pushing him in training, and that Mo wouldn't have won Gold without Galen. If Mo wasn't brought in, I think Galen would have been top 10, but not top 5 in the 10k and I don't think Mo would have been either

Who hates Salazar? And why?
I'm a massive Al Sal fan and a massive Levins fan. Hearing this news was a fantastic way to start my day!
Do you read the message boards?

Yeah that's there very politically correct answer.

Yeah, but you have a team you pull for. I guess the way I see it all of the American elite are on a "team" and I hope they all do well.
We've been down for so long and the sport as been so thoroughly dominated by east africans that I dont really care who it is, I just want an american runner to succeed.
This is very good for Levins as long as AlSal realizes what made Cam good. The great coaches individualize runners' workouts.
Since Levins is a 5k/10k guy I think joining Salazar will be beneficial for him
Rupp got in the way of Rupp winning gold. He could have won last year... and he knows it too. He hesitated and went too late. Had he gone sooner, Rupp would have shocked Mo.
I 100% believe this.
And, as another poster mentioned, neither Rupp nor Mo would have been top 5 if they didn't train with each other.
is al sal gonna fast track him with the good stuff like mo
rupp and farah pushing each other to gold silver?
you think mo never trained before nop?
training w/the big guns is the primary reason that rupp/farah have improved and why levins will. you can talk all you want about alter-g, underwater tmills, ice contraptions, etc., but that's the bottom line. levins could not possibly get the kind of training stimulus by himself as w/rupp/farah/ritz to chase.
This likely isn't about what is best for Cam, this is likely about Nike wanting Cam to train with Alberto - a "Nike approved" coach.
Cam isn't going to be a full time athlete? The article states he is going to be going to Pharmacy School in Forest Grove 40 minutes away from Nike. I'm familiar with the program and it is very time intensive and a lot of it is spent with group learning. How can he handle that when he has to make certain practices and run upwards of 150 mile weeks. He better not overdue it or he is going to toast himself.
My bad, looked over it again and his fiancé is the one starting the pharmacy program. Well things look good for the Levins. Can't wait to see more of Cam on the US circuit.
2/10 - people know this is referring to his fiance.
Why do people like Cam Levins?
