Also the straightaway course appeared slightly downhill
Pretty sure that the certification of the track included it NOT BEING DOWNHILL.
You know they have tools to measure that, right?
Enjoying the echo chamber?
Half the posters on this thread have no idea what they are talking about..
-Sub 15 at this point in the season? Bolt can run sub 15 at ANY point in the season.
-Losing his top end? Show me one piece of evidence from that video that indicates that he is losing his top end speed. 14.42 is an EXCELLENT indicator for maintenance of his exceptional top end speed.
-it was end of MARCH, any comments on his top end or "fitness" at this point of the season is mute and ridiculous.
-The surface that was constructed, however sturdy, would have had some give and quite a bit more absorption of energy than a flat track on ground. Manchester was a track put on concrete. Brazil is a structure, built on a BEACH. the return of energy being applied would have been less than Manchester almost CERTAINLY. Better weather yes, but for me, his Brazil run is marginally better due to the surface, venue and structure being accounted for.
-He didn't look as relaxed? It was March, his first short race back in a LONG time, he's gonna be rusty, give the guy some LEEWAY. Let him race a few races and then comment.
-Slower? Fatter? you're nuts
-and finally, "It seems this might be a rebuilding year for Mills to get Bolt's speed back up and he may focus on the 100 as Bolt has been noticeably slowing on his top end. Is 9.55 possible? Maybe. It would be nice to see Bolt focus back on the 100 and not the 100 and the 200 which was obviously slowing him down at 100." This is plain insane. You're insinuating that running a 200m and focusing on top end speed is SLOWING BOLTS 100M PROGRESSION? Honestly, this is quite simple, in the 100m, top end speed is as important, maybe more important than acceleration mechanics. Being fastest to 30m,40,50 is sweet and all, but who cares? it's 100m. How many 60m STUDS have there been that have blown their loads indoors and don't have the balls (top end) to make it happen outdoors?
Yourallnuts , the first words logical here hehehe.
Here i see a lot of people that talk without know...
Bolt is very good, i don think that he lost his top end speed.
In 2012 end of May amazing 9.76 -0.1¡¡¡
In final OG 9.63 after to be resting 1 month with a injury in trials, it is super amazing¡¡¡
After trials and his problems health, a lot of people were doubting that Bolt can win in London and finally he won there more or less "easy".
And in 200 jogging last 10m.
He was only 90-95% in OG, it is very sure.
A healthy Bolt would break his WR in that final OG.
End of march 2013, after to be traning for make several 400(2 400 and 1 4x400),he runs 150m in Brazil in a beach and a lot of heat(around 30 degrees Celcius) and he runs 14.42.
All this one in preason and without basic training for sprint in these months(Bolt told it,he is training specific training for sprint few weeks ago).
Who tells that Bolt is losing his top end speed analyzing this one, does know about sprinting.
drivel
drivel
9.63/+1.5/0m ->9.702
9.69/-0.1/600m ->9.704
depends on the respective RTs of the races + blake far more rested in 9.69, whereas 100m semi in bolt's legs in 9.63
no
it appears he had minor injury/poor form, probably thru too much partying before games - he got fast enough, quick enough
he doesn't need '16, but if he does, he'll still win both
massive frame
massive CV, musculo-skeletal system to go with it
6'5 means nothing to him as any future injury predisposer
i doubt it
if your peabrain hadn't noticed, some of the taller ole guys of yore like the King & linford ran pbs into their 30s
short guys fizzle out faster - tall guys less
Darvis Patton ran 9.75 (wind aided) at Texas Relays. Looks like it's gonna be a very fast year for 100m yet again!
