Good to see Lagat taking time to give high-fives, autographs, and take pics with the fans. A nice refresher after reading the bash-fest that is LRC.

Bumbi is not in fact the 3rd fastest over 2 miles. He is if you only look at indoors. I think most forget that it is Tegenkamp who still in fact is the fastest American ever over 2 miles.
True, but Bumbi deserves serious props. Huge PR for him. What 3000 time does that convert to?
Cheserek announced earlier today that he will be attending...
University of Oregon
Lagat is always a prince with the crowd. Hangs out well past the conclusion of his races signing, posing for photographs and talking with children. The man brings an unreal kick and an unmatched level oc energy to his racing. US track could use a dozen Lagats. No joke.
Who would lead?
Anybody get Bernie's split for the last 400? Looked like he was off the record, but then rose to the occasion.

He'll be gone after the first year and will most certainly turn pro. He's not going to waste four years at the NCAA level.
LAGAT IS THIRTY-EIGHT FREAKING YEARS OLD. PEDS? DID YOU SEE THE QUOTE ON THE HOMEPAGE YESTERDAY FROM HIS COACH? COME ON PEOPLE, OPEN YOUR EYES. PEDS.
Even his coach admits it's absurd he's so good at his age: "It's mind-boggling to think he's 38 and still running like this. We have never seen it in the world anywhere at any time in history."
~From Yesterday's Homepage
You all say that Edward is old but LV could have been much older then his recorded age but none of you questioned that.
By the way if Ed looks old then this guy is ancient

Hard to believe he's never heard of Lopes.

Fist of all, nobody takes a person who writes in all caps seriously. Second of all, Lagat is clearly a 1-in-a-billion athlete -- his skill, his work ethic, and lots of luck in avoiding injury. Has he taken PEDs? Probably, same as most elite athletes. But it's not like he's where he was last night because of that.

Yeah have any of you seen him, he looks like a 16 year old. Some of the african runners do look older and many probably are but he does not look like one of them. Also there is no advantage to claim to be younger. He already can get a full ride anywhere. To think he just really wants the american high school record is stupid. If he is still competing in 15 years i bet none of you are going to be claiming he is older then he says then.
Just noticing that Craig Forys ran poorly - 8:52. 2-mile just not his thing? Waaaay behind Levins who he beat just a couple weeks ago at XC.
Just like Lance Armstrong was a one in a billion athlete?
All I'm saying is that NOBODY is bringing up PED use when Lagat is certainly someone that fits the profile. This is embarrassing given the accolades given by Letsrun.com to the recent article written by Bill Simmons.

Lagat = Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds. Cheserek actually looks older than Lagat.

Wait, what? Then why do you suppose he is taking the PEDs?
lol great. one huge doper (setting records at 38!)who isnt even american and another age cheat straight out of the bush where no one even bothers with proper documentation. he could easily be 25 and he sure looks it
