All fatality accidents in KY require blood testing.
The night this happened it was 10pm, raining, the lights of the city reflecting off the roadway from the water. The area this happened is a short span of road (10-20 yards) between traffic lights where gaining speed is not possible especially with the ammount of traffic that was out at that time on a Saturday night in Downtown Lex. The area was bustling with people at the ice skating rink, UK game earlier that day, ect. There were numerous witnesses and this was simply a tragic accident. The area has several different traffic cameras also.
We as Emergecy workers are truly saddened by any loss and always want justice to be done no matter who is at fault. Please also keep the driver and his crew in your thoughts as they are dealing with the tragedy of this for the rest of their lives. I'm truly sorry for the loss of this young woman's life and pray for her family and friend's as they mourn her.
God Speed
With the lack of facts that are being shared it is impossible to know what to think of driver and crew. Perhaps if you know, you could help us to understand the first puzzle. Who reported the accident, and why was it reported as a hit and run?
