No, and I never will. They have a $19 billion endowment, they don't my money. It could be put to better use.

Yes, I donate to my school and to my kids' schools, but not to my wife's school. She was the only one of the four who thought it was a waste of time. Personally, I feel my school transformed me from a shy, lazy, do- nothing into a guy with an enjoyable career.

Have you ever given money to your alma mater?
Yep. Like others mentioned, it seemed like once you contributed, they kept pestering you to give and give. Once a year wasn't good enough. Therefore, I stopped.
I got scholaarships too... Need based and academic. I give back to help others have the chance I did... Wouldn't have gone without the money they gave me. I donate to a fund for students in need and the general fund... Not huge amounts to either but what I can afford.
Hell no I don't.

My undergrad school (Penn State) has pestered me non-stop since I graduated. My grad school (Cornell) hasn't contacted me at all about donations. For a number of reasons, I will probably donate more to Cornell than Penn State when I have enough money to make significant donation. The constant pestering is going to make me feel less bad about leaving PSU out.
I did every year until they dropped men's track and cross country.
I've given to the institution where I went to graduate school but not my undergrad one.
Yes, somewhere close to $10,000 But then, after that, being a collegiate coach for 5 years, national team coach 5 x, school record holder, outstanding recommendations, etc I didn't even get an interview when I applied for a coaching position. Sorry, they've seen the last of my cash.

i figure i will after my student loans are paid off.... hopefully i can direct where i want the money to go
I just graduated and I want to give what I can because I feel if we are to get any respect from ADs the only thing I know talks to them is money and more money, nothing else.
Now, I have a question: can I designate where it goes?? If not I will be much more hesitant.
Undergrad: University - no; College - yes; Varsity Club - yes
Grad School 1: Nope
Grad School 2: Nope
In 20 years, I've given maybe a total of $3000. It's not much. I've given that much to the local food bank in the last couple years.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
My University has built about 9 new buildings and a new stadium since I graduated. They sure don't need my money.

Perhaps they found a better candidate. Is that so bad?
