Someone else has a thread up about this but unless you click on it - you won't know what he's talking about:
http://bicycling.com/blogs/dailylance/2012/11/11/lance-armstrong-tweets-provocative-photo-showing-his-seven-tour-de-france-yellow-jerseys/The article takes you to a tweet of his showing him lounging on the coach with his framed TDF jerseys above him.
The guy
a) has no remorse and
b) seems like an egomaniac who is going to have a hard time if he can't figure out a way to stay in the public eye
Rojo, usually I'm with you. Here, you've lost all perspective. It seems like you'd really like LA to go broke or even be criminally punished.
It's sports, not life. At some point, you have to get over it and accept the fact that he essentially got away with it.
If it give you any pleasure, you should reflect on the fact that LA is probably seething right now and tweeted the pic to get a reaction. By being outraged, you are giving him exactly what he wants.
You should think about the fact that someday he will have to explain this to his kids. I can't imagine that conversation will be easy.
He has left a trail of bitterness and recrimination behind him like no other sports figure in recent history (save Barry Bonds). In short, he has no friends, he has been unsuccessful in maintaining long term relationships with women, and has been stripped of his celebrity status. Eventually he will end up on "World's Stupidest..." with Danny Bonaducci and Tonya Harding.
So, Lance is going to suffer. He has reached an age where his athletic performance is going to sharply decline in the next few years. He has been stripped of his foundation. There is nothing on the horizon that can replace the stimulation of being a A/B celebrity and accomplished athlete. He will quite literally have nothing to do but ruminate on the events of the last year.
So its regrettable that Lance didn't go through the denial-anger-acceptance-catharsis cycle in a 36 hour news cycle so that you could be satisfied, but you can be sure he's suffering and he will continue to for every day of the rest of his life.
Is that enough for you?
