If the OP only viewed the Olympics through the lense of US TV coverage, and wasn't actually in attendance at any of the events, I would think he's safer to pass comment on the TV coverage rather than the Olympics themselves.
^This. US TV coverage was awful. The announcers weren't even in the same league as the BBC announcers. Attempting to find live coverage of the events I wanted to see on the NBC Olympics website was too hard. Here in the US, it was hours and hours of swimming, diving, and water polo with some beach volleyball and regular volleyball thrown in. At least, that was my perception.
