i know about sagging, the clothes werent sagging at the start, they were just baggy
as there is confusion, i know about sagging trousers. i saw a documentary in the mid ninities that explained the origin.
i remember crisscross wearing their clothes backwards [i dont know whether that style was unique to them or not]
im talking about how at the end the eighties, hiphoppers suddenly start wearing shirts/tops two or three sizes too large for them, trousers two or three sizes too large for them
Used to run 100 mpw in HS in Champion mesh bball shorts. The whole team did it. Granted, they were above the knee and not as long as they are now, but they weren't running shorts. They had the advantage of being cool and not smelling like newer tech fabric does. Kind wish I could trade in my present day running shorts for those '90's shorts.
Because Runners doesn't like to bring guns in his shorts (almost "square pants"), like all those D1 thugs.
On my high school team, which sucked, everyone ran in basketball shorts (some wore compressions shorts underneath, others boxers). On my first college team, everyone (except me) wore running shorts and we just missed a top 10 finish at JUCO nationals. At my second college team, which sucked, everyone wore basketball length shorts with boxers. I personally prefer basketball shorts where they stop just above my knee. I'm too self-conscious about wearing short-shorts in public, unless I'm racing.

What's wrong with mesh basketball shorts for running? They look a lot better. I don't feel a difference unless you're doing a marathon on a warm day.
Because you look like a cvnt ?
For practice, it really doesn't matter. Who cares if the longer shorts slow your times by ~2%? It's just practice. For practice, I wear whatever shorts are available. I could care less if they are short/long, running/basketball/casual. Now on race day of course I want to optimize and I wear the running shorts.
Another curious phenomenon is the fact that very few guys run wearing a football helmet. I just don't understand this.
You guys who run in long shorts obviously don't sweat very much. It's bad enough wearing short shorts in the summer. Long shorts means more sweat and more material sticking to me. No thanks.
Oh ... and boxers and shorts?!?? Sweet baby jesus do you guys like to torture yourselves or what?
Lmao, hilarious.
Maybe there is some truth to it too.
About 6 years ago, my high school team wore only basketball shorts, or shorts that went to the knee. A kid transferred over to my school he wore short shorts. He would CRUSH everyone in work outs.
Eventually, everyone wanted to be fast like him and everyone started to wear short shorts. Everyone who converted dropped a minute or more off their time.
Short shorts make you faster.
